I am going to get and additional card for my pvr.
1. because I want to record multiple shows
2. I cant watch tv during recording.
Is it not possible to watch the same thing as you are recording?

Anyway I have the retail version of the plain pvr150 card. I am looking at getting another card. There is a PVR150 274 out there that I am looking at it doesnt have the remote or input for remote so I was wondering how that would work? or if I get another retail version of the card how will that work? The infrared reader is plugged in directly to the card so if you have two do you need to plug in both IR readers? Likewise if I am using the 274 model and something is recording on the first card(retail) will GBPVR know that when I use the channel changer it means to make the channel move on the other card or the 274 card? If someone could line me out on how my setup would go that would be great? I am looking to get the 274 card because it is cheaper so hopefully someone has done this before and it could be posted. I searched but did not find answers to all of these questions. Thanks for the help.

You will only need the one IR reciever.

I never knew which of my two PVR150 cards I was using to either record or watch tv. It doesn't really matter. GBpvr fully supports multiple tuners so you don't need to do anything different once they are configured.

You also only need one zap2it account. Just point both cards to the same account.

yes you can watch the same thing you are recording - you can do that by going into the tvguide and then press PLAY on the program being recorded - or go into RECORDINGS | PENDING and choose play on the program thats being recorded.

Yes, I don't see where it is any difference between this and the full retail PVR150 except for not coming with a remote which you don't need anyway.

This one right? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as...6815116633

Yes that is the one that I was expecting to get. It looks like it has some extra stereo plugs out the back though. So you think that I can get that one and give it a shot.
@dgeezer : what do you think of Charleston or do you go there is there anything to do? Fam going on vacation there I think I am going to be bored out of my mind.
@skippy thanks for the tip I must have missed that one.

DH:

Did you get that PVR150 274? How did it work out for you?

I am ordering this one to compliment my existing PVR150 with the remote, and I want to make sure there are no "gotcha's". Smile

Oh, and if your other card has been in there a while, be sure to upgrade your hauppauge drivers to the newest ones so you don't get burned by the timestamp issue.

No I never did get a second card. I am still having trouble with my machine being stable and I dont know why. Adding more hardware seems like it would only add to my troubleshooting problems. When GB1.0 comes out I guess I will look into a second card and it will be this one. Let me know how it goes for you though I would like to hear about it.
