Hi,

I'm in the process building my first HTPC. I have the spec pretty much sorted (planning to use gbpvr obviously Big Grin ) the only thing i'm not sure about is the tuner(s).

Living in the UK digital tuners would be the best choice but I also want to record satellite TV from my STB. As I understand it to record from the STB I need to use an analogue card (i.e a Hauppauge WinTV PVR 150)?? but I would rather not be limitted to just analogue. So I was thinking of adding a dual digital tuner (i.e Hauppauge WinTV NovaT 500). Would this setup work under gbpvr?? Would it be possible to setup the software to record digital channels and also use a IR blaster to change the channel of the STB for recording through the STB where needed?

Thanks in advance for any help

I have that exact setup. PVR150 for analogue TV and from a Sky box plus a nova-t-500 twin dvb-t card.
It can get a little fiddly with the Hauppauge software, but works in the end.
(1) install nova-t-500 drivers.
(2) disable IR on nova-t in control panel.
(3) remove nova-t IR software.
(4) install pvr150 drivers
(5) install pvr150 IR software and config for Sky.

There may be a quicker route, but I found the above worked for me and I've had three simultaneous recording sessions with two playbacks.
