Looking to add one to my system. I am not sure to go with the hdhomerun, the Dvico FusionHDTV-RT 5 Lite ATSC/QAM PCI Card, AirStar-HD5000AV-PCI ATSC/8VSB HDTV PCI Card or if something else is the favorite, please do let me know. Just got HDTV for the superbowl and would like to add this feature.

Thanks in advance.

Of those, I'd probably go with hdhomerun, since it will give you QAM. Other devices like the dvico dont support QAM except in their own app.

Yeah, the HDHomeRun is quite nice. I'd still consider it a beta, but it's a well-functioning, well-supported beta. Using the Software Recorder plug-in you can use it today, but seemless integration with GB-PVR won't be achieved until their BDA device driver is released. That driver is in a public beta now supporting one of it's two tuners. Second tuner support is due to be released soon.

Outside of GB-PVR using VLC or with it's command line interface it works very well. It also is being used by the SageTV and MythTV communities too, as well as Windows MCE.

It's a slick product, and it's QAM support can't be beat. I've had mine about 3 weeks and I have no regrets buying it.

I wouldnt recommend using it any way other than their BDA driver, which while in beta is readily available at the hdhomerun website to any owner of this device.

The hdhomerun guy is very responsive at solving problems, so I'm sure any serious bugs will be ironed out pretty quickly.

So far it is working very well. I have not had a lot of time to make everything work properly, but I have mapped some of my channels to it and it looks great and the recordings are great also. Right now, just the big 4 , ABC, NBC, CBS, and fox are mapped.
One problem I have is if you have client machines, they can not seem to stream those channels if none of the other tuners are selected. I have not looked into this and it might not be a feature yet supported by client machines.

I'm using the HDHomerun, GB-PVR and as of last night I installed the beta2 driver that support both BDA tuners. I attempted at first OTA tuning but decided to stick to QAM tuning due to complexity of the reception in my area (Tampa). Things seem to working perfectly with QAM.

The newly added "TS-MUX" seems to work the best for HDHR and GB-PVR. I tried using DVR-MS MUX but the resolution was being reported as down-rezzed when I played the capture back in Zoomplayer. The only issue I've had is that the channel mapping scan in GB-PVR isn't working correctly but it's pretty easy to work-around for initial setup.

I'm at this point considering ordering a 2nd HDHR so I have 4 tuners available to record my 5 QAM HD channels. I would love to a HDHR-like network device for capturing analog cable to I can record SCI-FI, FX, etc.

I'm sure that'll just be a zoomplayer bug.

This is a bug in the HDHomeRun drivers. I've let the HDHomeRun guys know what is causing it, so I'm sure they'll have a fix soon.
