i would think a hard reset will clear all data or configurations that were done by myself. unfortunately, when i remove power from my mediamvp for 5, 10, and even 20 minutes, it still knows of the network and wep key i used. why is this a problem? my old network is gone, and i am trying to connect to a new network. when i modify the settings in the mediamvp configuration screens (haup sw), i select apply and it says that it can connect to the router successfully but cannot obtain an ip address. when i select cancel, it says it cannot receive an ip address and resorts back to my old settings. has anyone experienced anything like this before? or more appropriately, what was the process used to move from one network configuration to another with the mediamvp?

thanks.

I can not see what the problem is. I remember in the past some people have solved a similar problem by placing the MVP MAC address in the DHCP server

I think your issue is that there is some confusion because your wireless settings are stored in flash memory and these don't get overwritten until you actually are able to obtain an IP address again.

I created a thread earlier on what wireless settings are needed to make the router work, and I don't have enough info to create a database, but the following might help you troubleshoot.

- Turn off WEP shared key.
- Turn off QoS/WMM/WME which related to multimedia extensions to 802.11
- Turn off 802.11 mixed mode
