Low volume

I've looked and probably looking for the wrong thing but...

If I record a show when I go to play it back I have to turn the TV volume up considerably to be able to hear it. Is this a filter problem? Or do I have something set wrong?

I'm using the Mpeg Audio Decoder... should I change it to something else?

Take a look at the volume-sliders in the computer-volume-tray-icon-application. They are probably down.
