Hi,

Can I change the order that the menu buttons appear? Specifically in "Recordings" I want to default to "Recent Recordings" instead of the alphabetical sort.

Thanks!

I've added a <DefaultRecordingsView> setting in config.xml for the next release that can be used to configure this.

Will new settings (ie. DefaultRecordingsView) be able to be set in either A) the config app or B) through GBPVR system menu?
I know I've seen you post that GBPVR has been written around using a remote for the interface, and I think that being able to configure the app within the System Menu would greatly improve this design.

Hopefully I'm not stepping out of bounds by saying this as I don't want to tell you where to put your priorities, but I think GBPVR is very robust at the moment and I would really love to see all of the functionality it currently has
accessible and configurable from within the application instead of having to launch the config app. My system is a stand alone HTPC with no monitor hooked up to it (unless you count the LCD TV Wink) and although I can remote in to do maintenance to the machine I think it would be more user friendly to be able to do most if not all configurations from within the system.
I would far better see this done then having any new features added since there are already so much more of these then any other PVR application.

Just my 2 cents...you may choose to ignore now Wink

No worries, I hear what saying and I agree. Over time I intend to eventually chip away at making all the main settings available via the system settings screen. I say "main settings" because there is a whole lot of settings that'll only ever be in config.xml. These are typically the types of settings I wouldnt expect most people to ever change (or I wouldnt want them to) - often added to meet one or two user's requests, or used added in case I need the flexibility to do something in the future, or useful in my testing etc. (there are tons on settings in config.xml not exposed via config app)

That said, I will add this default view setting to the Settings screen.

Cool. I think I posted this as a minor wish not long after you added the What's New view. Both my wife and I probably use this view the most as we tend to watch/delete shows within a few days of recording them.

Cheers,
Brian

Personally, I would prefer configuration stuff to be outside the main app.

If you have kids you'd know why!

For that reason you can set a pin number on the settings screen. See the <SettingScreenPIN>0000</SettingScreenPIN> setting in config.xml. 0000 is disabled.

This makes me wonder how many things there are that we don't know about Smile At one time I thought I had tinkered with most settings and had a good idea I knew what I could and could not do with GBPVR. Today I know better Big Grin
