A strange problem I've been experiencing since a reinstall. I can't schedule recurring recordings, either through the web interface or GBPVR itself. I've tried restarting the recording service, the computer, etc with no luck. A couple notes:
- Recording a single episode works (i.e. "record once")
- The program DOES show up under the "Recurring" tab, the individual episodes just don't get listed in "Pending"
- Through the web interface, I get a "Recording Failed!" message on a red background, but no further information.
- None of the files in logs/ seem to get updated when this happens (based on their timestamps).

Any ideas for how to go about resolving this? Thanks!

Edit: I should add, most of the reports of problems like this seem to be related to duplicate episode issues. I have that "Don't record duplicates" setting off, but also have no existing recordings that it could be matching.

reproduce the problem (in GBPVR itself), then zip nad attach the logs and I'll take a look.

Actually, I think I solved this. Turning the logging level to Debug revealed that when I tried to schedule, it was checking against a whole bunch of shows that I normally record, but hadn't yet set up. Before reinstalling, I had been using linux/mythtv. I guess some/all of the scheduling is done on the pvr150 card itself (right?), and it was remembering some of the recordings I had set up in myth. Booting back to linux and purging those seems to have resolved this. Anyway, seems ok now!

Do you have a plugin like TVSupercharger running and are using zap2it? The reason I ask is that this plugin, and possibly others, distinguishes reruns from first showings as "The Class" and "The Class*". If you make a scheduled seasons recordings of "The Class*" , the seasons recordings will be limited to first run shows only (i.e. no repeats). If you want the repeats too, you need to either ask for a seasons recording of "The Class" or modify the settings in the config file to make an exception for the one or two programs where you might have missed one of the first run showings.

I am having a similar problem. I have had great success recording a show at 4:30 every weekday, but then it stopped recording. I have added and deleted it and added it again, but it won't show up in pending. I can add a different show, but if I add that show it won't record. I will check the 'repeat' issue mentioned above.

I had also noticed that there were some mysterious conflicts with odd date info e.g 1/1/2001. After reading a post on how to edit the database I backed it up then removed the entries for that program that had unusual date info.

Not sure if I made it better or worse with the edits...

Getting into the database is serious stuff...

The entries that have a time of 01-01-2001 are the actual reoccurring entries. If you have selected a season recording in GB-PVR you will see an entry with that time sig... Look closer and you will see that there is a status 4 and recording type of 5. That's the actual "Please MR GB-PVR, I'd like you to record this show for me every time..."

When there is an EPG update, then GB-PVR will compare the Programme table against your 'reoccurring schedule' and set individual recordings. They will look like a manual recording. With an actual start and end time. Status 0 (for not yet recorded) and RecordingType 0 (for Manual record)

It's possible that your GB-PVR isn't making that check through the database after an EPG update. You may be suffering from this bug. Check this out....

There is another possibility that the show you want to watch is a rerun, and GB-PVR may be set to disallow recording of duplicates (reruns).. Check that out...

Thanks for your quick reply, Frank. I'm pretty sure it was unwise to mess with the db. I can roll it back, but I will still have the original problem. How do I set GB-PVR to allow recording duplicates? (I suspect that is the problem, even though there is nothing obvious in the tv guide).

Will check the config...but...

I got it to record the show today, so my kids are happy. But I still have a mystery recording that shows up under 'conflicts' but not on pending or recurring, and I can't delete it. This seems to be the show I want but on a goofy channel (45 instead of 13?). Any thoughts on how to clear it?

Well then I would delete any reference, status 4 or 0 for the silly entry in recording_schdule and try again...

Don't worry about the channel. The real channel number is cross referenced under the CHANNEL and Source_channel tables...
