Hi Together,

when doing a channel scan gbpvr does find all channels except of two. Now I want to add this two channels manually.

Channels already in the list contain settings like this:

ZDF logs (T:C,346000,6900,QAM64, 8~NID:62502~ONID:1~TSID:1079~P:28006~V:110~A:120~L:deu~PMT:100~TXT:130~N:>ZDF)

or

SAT.1 (T:C,466000,6900,QAM64, 8~NID:62502~ONID:133~TSID:33~P:46~V:1791~A:1792~L:deu~PMT:106~TXT:34~N:>SAT.1)

But I am not sure which of these are provider specific and / or if some of these settings are gbpvr specific. To be honest I really do not know what all this means.

I am using a dvb-c card. My cable provider is KabelBW (Germany).

One of the channels missing is in 458000, 6900, QAM64, the other on in 466000,6900, QAM64. Other channel also located in these ranges have caused no problems.

Maybe some of you can give me a little hint.

Regards
Rene

P.S.: I did a channel scan only for these frequencies and attached the log files of this scan.

P.S.S.: Just in case a German is reading this: The missing channels are called RTL and Pro7

In this example, I've removed the items that are not required.

T:C,466000,6900,QAM64,8~P:46~V:1791~A:1792~PMT:106~N:>SAT.1

The sections separated by ~ are:
T:C,<freq>,<symbolrate>,QAM64,<bandwidth>
P:<service or program number>
V:<video pid>
A:<audio pid>
PMT:<pmt pid>
N: <name, can be anything - not really used for any thing other than display>

You might be able to see these values in another DVB app, or with a utility like TSReader etc.

Hi Sub,

thanks for your quick reply.

I have installed TSReader but it does not support my card. I have also installed DVBStreamExplorer but unfortunately it looks like that it does not support my card either.

With the program that came with my card I had some success. But can't find the information you said to me I must have. This is what I get for one of the missing channels:

ONID: 1
TSID: 1089
SID: 12003
VID: 163
AUD:104
TXT: 105
SUB: --
PCR: 163
AC3: 106
H.264: --
AAC: --

The settings I need, does my provider know them? If so I could call my provider. Or do they depend on the signal, or from house to house, or what ever?

Sorry to bother you with that, but due to my lake of technology know-how its too much for me :o

I'm not really sure what you mean. If you've got the right PIDs (your list above looks like the right sort of numbers), and the channel is either unencrypted, or you have the appropriate multidec plugins, then you should be able to watch them.

Oh, shame on me! Now I see...

V:<video pid> --> probably VID
A:<audio pid> --> probably AUD

but I am unsure of these two
P:<service or program number> --> maybe SID?
PMT:<pmt pid> --> PCR?

Sorry, I was looking for something with xxx-pid and by so doing did not see the obvious thing.

Correct

Quote:PMT:<pmt pid> --> PCR?
hmm, no. I dont see anything that maps to that one. You might be able to get away with making up some random number of this one.

Guess I am doing something wrong.

As soon as I left the column "Tuning Request" or click the "OK" button the things I have typed in disappear.

Enter the tuning string in the "Edit Recording Source" screen, not the "Digital Channel Mapping" screen.

Also, when testing the BDA drivers for the HDHomeRun I was able to enter tuning strings without the PMT portion and they worked. All I needed was the T:x,x,x~P:x~V:x~A:x

That was ATSC though, don't know if it will work for DVB.

Whurlston,

thanks for your post. I did enter the tuning string in the "Edit Recording Source" screen. But whatever I do, as soon as I left the field the string is gone and the field stays empty.

Is there a file containing all channels in which I can add the missing one?

I think its a difference between DVB and ATSC. You might need to put these strings in the c:\program files\devnz\gbpvr\bda\*.cache, then click the 'map digital channels to EPG channels' button - and you'll find it listed as a channel previously found.
