I know this is opening the door but...

If anyone has suggestions for ZProcess, go ahead.

Here are a few things I'm planning on doing, but might need some help...

Updating the documentation. I think some of the newer features are integrated into the docs properly. They're also kinda confusing at times...

Tidying up the user interface. I think that I might toss more of the little tweaks off in favour of a neater interface. I'll still have the sliders and rectangles from the transcode page. It's a primary feature...

I may want to write a help file that will tie into the interface.

I have been talking with a few people regarding a Plugin and skin. Unfortunately, I know that I won't have the time to learn the style of programming that seems to be required. If anyone wants to help, it would be appreciated...

I've played with zProcess a (very) little bit and here are some thoughts:
Include an 'uninstall' batch file.
On the Queue tab, allow multiple selects to remove items.
Have it be a stand-alone process - personally, I just use it to do batch commercial detection/removal.

I apologize if these features already exist and I just haven't figured them out yet. I installed zProcess to 'check it out' and absolutely love the ability to have batch processing queues, however, I couldn't get the mencoder part working. I decided to uninstall it, but have been unable to do so cleanly. Since I don't really use my MVP for viewing .avi files, I haven't really spent much time messing with it even though it looks like it has great potential.

First of all, i just love this app! I played around with the first versions when they came and it has realy developed into a "must have" app since then. The only thing i'm missing is support for subtitle.

Support for external subtitle when converting aviConfused to mpg. Now i first have to render in the subtitle in the avi and then transcode it to mpg. It would nice if I could do it all in one step.

Support for internal subtitle when converting vob files would also be nice.

Keep up the good work!

I had to laugh. Well then! It shows how much you like it, if the first suggestion is an uninstaller.... LOL

Seriously, not a bad idea writing an uninstaller. I haven't bothered because it's so dang easy to remove. Just delete it. What type of hold overs or remnants were you talking about. I'd be happy to help you get rid of them...

Since a couple of versions ago, ZProcess can run standalone, not requiring any program other than ffmpeg. All other features are optional. But you have to understand, Zprocess wasn't really designed to be stand alone, and what you may want to work in a stand alone condition , might not work...

Multi select in a list view is actually tougher than it seems, at least for me. Hate to say it, but it low on the list. It's on the list, but low...

Subtitles eh? Well I lived in Japan for nine years, and I certainly understand the need for subtitles. Trouble is, I'm an English speaker, and I watch only English programming and so I haven't been compelled to write in subtitle support.

Just recently, I downloaded an American TV show, but from a Swedish ?? source, and there were accompanying srt subtitle files. I opened the AVI in Windows Media Player and saw what you guys were talking about for the first time...

If I understand correctly both MEncoder and VLC can display srt files. I even heard pbs talking about srt with FFmpeg.

It made me thinking it might be possible. Have to say sounds like a challenge. But don't hold your breath. I'm quite busy lately. We'll see what I can do...

Ok, for me it's a hearing problem. I use subtitles even with swedish movies...

But the most important thing is that the movies shows in the right AR and ZProcess has not failed on this so far Smile

I didn't think of it that way, but your comment gave me a laugh. I really think it's a good application, in fact, I'd already written my own queueing system (via vbscript) but it relied on a text file with the full path to the file, so copy/pasting the path & file was tedious. I like your interface a LOT better.

I have added support for SRT subtitles when using MEncoder. Try this latest version here>> [ATTACHMENT NOT FOUND]

Here's how it works... It takes the font file from your Windows directory/fonts/arial.ttf... Currently it's hard coded. Bug me, and I might add a place to choose your own.

Currently, it will only work with MEncoder. I have been unable to get info on the subtitles in FFmpeg and VLC so far...

On the Transcode tab, more, check the 'use subtitles'. The default font size may need to be adjusted. I like 2.5, but 3 is nice too. Remember to save your transcode profile...

Currently ZProcess is unable to adjust the position of the subtitle. For some it's fine, as the title appears in the black space at the bottom... But for some, TVs have so much overscan that they like to adjust the picture size to compensate. Unfortunately the fonts won't change position with the picture...

The only release for this version is right here... I'd like to hear your thoughts...

Well, I broke my brain trying something new with the SRTs. Let me heal, and I'll look into it. I think that VOBs are not native to MVP. That would give some trouble...

When you tried to delete/remove/uninstall ZProcess previously, what didn't leave? What would you like to clean up?

I need specifics, 'cause I haven't thought I needed to worry about it in the past...

Wow! I will give it a try later on today.

Sorry, I was a bit unclear in my wishes. I ment when transcoding a dvd to mpeg2, it would be nice to have the dvdConfused subtitle renderd into the mpg. I hope you understand..?

Thanks!
