Sad

Just d/l 1.0.987. I've re-run and repurged this several times, but I can't get around this error. I'm on the 1st step of installing Zprocess (selecting locations of GB-PVR.exe and comskip.exe), and I get:

"String From Text is EMPTY because this Function wasn't told when to stop. Check strEndPhrase... maybe vbTab or spaces", followed by a
"This is the strBuff: |live_tv=0|"

Similar errors occur after each set of questions, like it's having problems writing the stored vars. Funny enough, it seems to have filled in the correct fields under the "directories" tab of the program.

Thinking it may be the lack of VB6 on my system (Win2k sp4) as mentioned in the "Zprocess-readme.txt", I googled up "VB6 Service Pack Runtime files" (no link in the readme.txt as mentioned, FYI...) and installed a pack from
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/detai...layLang=en

Still no effect. I still get a bunch of these errors during the install, which I conclude is what is making it bork on me.

I try to load and run a MVP transcode "1 minute" sample as per the FAQ/wiki, but nothing seems to happen other than 14 seconds "processing time" which shows Zprocess tanking the CPU. But no file....

Hints? Am I dealing with a possessed system?

BTW, killer weekend weather we had here in Calgary this weekend, eh?

Edit:

Hold on... found the log file. May be an error with the FFMPeg installation.... More coming as the story unfolds...

Ok, the LATEST ffmpeg (6.9meg, NOT the 6.17meg) doesn't seem to like this new setup. FYI.

For testing don't use a different version of ffmpeg from the one shipping with GB-PVR...

As in the other thread, don't bother any other form of testing until the string error is resolved. Yes it's strange, but it is the cause of all your problems...

I used to ask 'why?' Now I just reinstall...
