I recently tried to install xDVD and ran into troubles. I found out that I can do what I want to do through the Movies plugin. I know that I can un-enable it, but I would like to get rid of it completely. How do eliminate unused plugins?
thanks

A problem I have is that it's not obvious what all plugins are, since not everyone names their plugin the same between the filename, the wiki, and what shows up in the Config->Plugins tab. Any way to know which is which?

You may be able to right click on the dll file name and it might give you some information.

Grab a list of names and someone might be able help you....

Short of that you might have to just remove each one individually to see what's missing. Sorry, Im not sure if there are any better methods. Maybe it's something the community as a whole needs to look at, i.e. putting he DLL name on the wiki page somewhere.

Tried looking at Version tab of DLL Properties when right-clicked, didn't help on many of them because people didn't populate that part with appropriate info. I think the best way to fix the problem would be to find out who isn't populating the DLL info, then notify each of them. It's the standard to follow, we just need to inform each person to make the changes.

That, and probably add the DLL name to the wiki page.

I personally have had little problems identifying the dll file relating to the plugins, this makes me question if you have some additional dll's in your plugin directory that are actually superflous. Would it be possible for you to provide a list of the dll's that you have not managed to identify. as I am sure people may have an idea once they see the dll name.

I know that the Visual Studio projects for the XRecord suite copy a bunch of dll's into the plugins directory when building in debug mode. Building in release mode doesn't copy any dll's to the plugins directory.

Go to Windows Start> Programs> GBPVR and the plugins will show an "Uninstall XXX Plugin" selection.

I assume these work? I've never tried them and not sure all plugins have this 'built in' uninstall option but the ones I have installed do.
