Attached is version .9 of the graphRecorder plugin.\

*** This is now on the WIKI as an official plugin please use that version ***

It has:
  1. functionality of the external recorder
  2. Allows you to use an externally created graph to record (and watch timeshifted)
  3. Allows you to schedule recordings in external apps via a TVPI file

I use it for software recording, firewire recording and to schedule my FUSION gold to do QAM recordings if the firewire is unavailable.

DLLs, source and readme attached.

PBS if you have an analog tuner it can tune the graph for you if you select the tune graph option. It could be made (with more coding) to tune ATSC but not QAM due to Microsofts lack of support.

Copy the stuff in the GBPVR dir to your GBPVR dir to install - if you have an external recorder going only copy the directShow and graphRecorder DLLs to the plugin directory to get it going.

excellent mon...tuning working fine...tho one thing, i don't see the mouse osd? the rest of it is there, but the mouse buttons are missing...not a biggie for sure just thought you might wanna know...
other than that it's working fine...channel changes while watching ewven works well...and pretty darn fast on the startup dude! quicker than my pvr150 to show first video in timeshift mode..Big Grin
will play with live preview mode and see what i can come up with..
but for recordings and timeshift this will work nicely..thanx again..

now to test on my ati usb2 wonder...[the real reason for plugin..has double crossbars]

i seem to remember a patch for overlay users cuz this would happen with regular gbpvr users...so may not be the plugin at all..will check into it..was pretty sure i'd applied the patch already..

but like i said,no biggie...i use remotes..Smile

it's really amazing the speed the video comes up..excellent job...even in timeshift it's only about 2 secs on my pinnacle pctvpro...channel changes as well..[as good or better than my pvr150]

and with the avivo encoders, you can delegate less cpu to encoding if needed..
[just lower the 'quality' slider] so that should make it usable for slower systems..Smile

i noticed NormanR is back, he's the one that made the WDM recorder originally, and it has a lot of features like preview mode,etc..so he may be of help with some of it...[like the profiles, but i see you've got that worked out]

on to more testing..Smile
so far so good..

The buttons are there for me - but I use VMR9 custom. I'll see what happens with overlay.

I'll see about preview mode sometime as well... I actually stuck the software recorder code for that in as comments to use as a guide - but since we use an existing graph we will probably have to disconnect the final mux and file filters and reconnect GBPVR friendly filters for rendering. I don't see using live preview too much - you lose all the cool functionality that way, although you could the create some PIP graphs for live preview.

Overall I am pretty happy with the performance - I was having start up issues and HD jitter issues and it turns out it was the AVIVO decoder I was using for playback - I switched to an Intervideo decoder and things sped up considerably, especially on high def.

yea, i noticed performance is't the same for the wdm recorder...i'm getting a bit higher cpu usage but nothing really bad...and my usb card uses much more cpu...but that's probably cuz of usb2...[totally cpu dependant]

only other thing i see might be a problem, the audio inputs...
it doesn't honor the audio inputs set in graph, it just uses whichever one was already selected in mixer...[on mine cdplayer in is for tuner, line in for svideo in]
even manually selecting in config would be good enough..

other than that it's working great..Smile

Well performance vs the Wdm is all about the graph you use - if you use the same settings I'd imagine it would be exactly the same.

I suppose on the audio side we could put a force audio option and it could walk through the filters and change any crossbars or audio source to the chosen option.

yea, i'd think most users would need the sound input option...and it's usually going to be the sound card, cuz other sources won't erase the setting in graph..
[kinda special case like the tuners]

on cpu use, i think it's the usb transfers using my extra cpu time...on my internal pci card it looks same as wdm..Smile

oh and one more thing, this could be used to give pvr150 users closed captions with a properly built graph..Big Grin
[tho without the hardware compression, tho that may be doable too]

Code:
[QUOTE]I use it for software recording, firewire recording and to schedule my FUSION gold to do QAM recordings if the firewire is unavailable.
[/QUOTE]

What does your graph look like that you use for firewire capturing. I am hoping to play with this tonight if I get a chance but wanted an example of how and what you are using to capture firewire.

Nevermind I see you already have the graph as an attachment
