I was trying to modify the shutdown plugin source code to get it working on my system but I get a bunch of error messages which I have included below from SharpDevelop when the solution loads.

GBPVRBackendCommon.dll is the latest version. Anyone have any ideas? Also, the solution was converted from a 1.x combine if that helps.

Have you tried it in C# express? Maybe worth a try.

Out of interest what does the Shutdown plug-in offer that the System screen doesn't?

You may now shut off the power screen.

If I shutdown from the run menu, it shuts down and turns the power off.
I was going to experiment around with the shutdown plugin and see if I could get it to shutdown and turn the power off.

If you're still having trouble with the plugin you could try going down the custom task route:

Actually the shutdown custom task doesn't include a shutdown.exe. Only hibernate or suspend. I'll search around for a shutdown prog and use that.

I never tried custom tasks before. I just added "Start VNC" and "Stop VNC" custom tasks to start/stop the vnc server for when I want to do remote administration. Works like a charm.

you can use the PStools .. you can then execute PSShutdown \\<your computer>

if your still looking for an exe.
Code:
[b]System Specs:[/b]
AMD64 3000+ (1GB DDR 400 in DualChannel mode)
WinXP Service Pack 2 (most updates)
80Gb SeaGate SATA (boot), 160Gb (noname) SATA(video archives),
500Gb SeaGate SATA][ (Recordings)

[b]GBPVR:[/b]
   99.12 (All Survival Patches)
(PVR150/OnAir GT USB, ZProcess, ShowBurn) - N/A at  moment

That worked. Too bad you can't get source code anymore. Strange that the internal version in GBPVR doesn't work for my system correctly.

You could always post this as a support issue and see if sub has any ideas.

The ShutDown plugin uses the WMI Win32_OperatingSystem class to invoke either the Shutdown method or the Reboot method. The first looks like it would leave a machine in the 'safe to power off' state. To force power off would need the Win32Shutdown method.

If sub is using similar code then it might explain the problem - but that's over to him. Smile

Cheers,
Brian
