Hi, another newbie with a question.
Configuration is WinXP, HVR1600, video card requires Overlay with WinTV2000 and I only have ATSC for a video stream.

WinTV2000 works as well as can be expected in Overlay I suppose. I've tried to read as many of the forum messages as possible to get gbpvr going. I've configured the HVR1600 with BDA pluggin, scanned zap2it for channels and attempted to map the digital channels to the EPG channels. The first time I started to scan, I was optimistic because I did see video in the preview screen of the scanning window. When I came back, the video had stopped. I assigned the channels to the EPG channels. When trying to bring up Live TV, the screen is always black. I've come back to mapping the channels again. It continues to find the channels, but if any are selected, the preview screen is black.

GBPVR can play videos recorded with WinTV2000 w/o a problem. Logs are attached. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
thanks

Can you try explicitly selecting an audio and video decoder, rather than relying on the 'system default' setting?

For video decoder, system default is the only one available. When testing playback with videos captures from WinTV2000 through the Video Library on GBPVR, it plays out very well.
For audio decode, there is MPEG audio decoder.

I think you might have to try installing some more decoders to try. The default decoders on your machine are the Hauppauge ones, but I've seen a few people have problems with these recently, so was wanting you to try some others.

I've ordered an nVidia card that should be here in a few days, but in the mean time do you have any suggestions on others (free)? I've tried a few I've found, but no luck yet.
It might be too much to explain to a rookie, but why can it playback recorded video, but has a problem with live? I would have thought it would be a similar stream.
thanks for the quick responses!

I dont have an explanation for you, but I have seen these Hauppauge decoders in the logs of few poeple that have been having problems recently.

I havnt personally tried these decoders, I'm not familiar with any 'quirks' they may have or why they occur.

Thanks for the suggestion. It did work better, but not usable. I've ordered a system with MCE and more power. I'm waiting to restest. Thanks for the help everyone.
