Hey guys.

I just bought a cheap TV Tuner card, it is a generic Conexant Blackbird. It works fine with the included aplication, but it is a piece of crap so I set out to look for something better and found GB-PVR. I can't set it up.... I have set up my source, but I can't watch Live TV because EPG won't update. I signed up for a Zap2it account using the certificate code GBPVR told me to use. Then I put in my username and password into GBPVR's settings. However, when I tell it to go Update EPG, it says it's updating then a window pops uo saying:

Your EPG Source Does Not Appear to be configured correctly. Please check EPG source settings and try again.

Then it says a bunch of gibberish saying (500) Internal Server Error, then what looks like a server error log. Are Zap2it's servers down, or is something wrong on my end?

thanks guys!

Log into http://labs.zap2it.com and check you're channel lineup lists all your channels. If it doesnt have a channel lineup, or it contains zero channels, then zap2it returns this 500 error code. They could be having some other problem, but that is the most common reason.

I figured it out. When you sign up, you need to add your locale and choose your cable provider. otherwise, it won't work

*smacks himself in the head*

thanks guys.

Not sure if you caught sub's reply.
Start config and go to the capture sources tab. Click on your capture source and click edit. Press the Update EPG button.
Then go to
C:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr\logs and zip up the config.exe.log file and upload it in your next reply.

Does that make sense?
Someone (usually sub) will look at the log and probably be able to tell what's up.

I was having this exact same problem today.

Here's where I am coming from:

- Did a fresh Windows install on my old system (AthlonXP 2800+, 1GBRAM, lots of disk, Happauge PVR250) using Win2k Pro CD (yah, I know..I'm a dinosaur).

- Right after the fresh Windows install, I did the Win2k SP4 and all the MS crticial updates, etc. It took a couple hours, but the system is a lot "perkier" than it used to be. Smile

- I reloaded all the latest drivers for all my hardware, including the Hauppauge PVR250. Everything seemed to be working fine.

- I've been running GB-PVR v096.12 (for a year now?) on the old Win2k install and I've been very satisfied (THANKS SUB!). But I felt it was time to move up. And, for some reason, I was not getting MS updates any longer and that worried me. This re-install seems to have fixed it.

- Now I was all ready for V09912. First, I installed the MDAC 2.6 and .NET runtime 2.0 (as required). The install went OK, until I hit the Config screen for the recording source. Doing the EPG update, I got a very similar error to what has been reported in this thread.

- Double checked my Zap2It subscription and account. Everything seems fine. Even created a new account from scratch, just to make sure that wasn't a problem.

- Zipped config.log is attached.

FYI - Just as a test, I was able to get v096.12 running just fine on this new install.

Thanks for any help!
