Hello,
Firstly, as a continued user of GB-PVR, I want to let you know what a great program I think it is and I highly appreciate all the work and development you put into it. Thus, if you are unable or uninterested in these requests, that's no problem at all, but I thought there was no harm in asking
Firstly, I was wondering if it would be possible to make the -mvpmode -visible window auto-refresh. It very nearly works, and is really useful, and I hesitated to ask you about it again, but it has a small problem. It works in that you can use the keyboard to control the MVP from the window, and when you run it, the MVP GBPVR screen does indeed come up in the window. THe problem is, whenever you use any key presses, the screen unfortunately doesn't update automatically. So when you select a menu option, the window stays the same. I found a workaround for it which I've been using, which is to drag the window off the screen and back onto it, which causes a refresh, and doing this after each keypress enables me to navigate the menus on the computer. However, if there is any way it could automatically refresh after a keypress (or even adding a manual refresh button) that'd be really useful, although I understand if its not possible.
Second, I was wondering if there could be a way to input what files are transcoded before being played on the MVP. I unfortunately have an 802.11b wireless network, too slow for the MVP upstairs to play mpeg files on the main computer downstairs. Currently, I run VLC on the laptop upstairs to access the mpeg I want to play and stream to the hard disk with a lower bitrate, which works. If there was any way I could get gbpvr to automatically do this when selecting an mpeg file, that'd be really useful.
Third (and highly unlikely), but is there any way to combine the GBPVR client mode with GBPVR mvpmode? That is to say, connect to the client GBPVR downstairs, and stream the files (which are too large to access directly over the 802.11b network) to the MVP?
As I said, although I thought it wouldn't hurt to ask just in case, if its not something simple or easily done, something you want to put in or dont have time to look at at all, that's completely fine
Thankyou again for developing such a great application, which I can confidently say is one of the most featureful, yet stable and well developed applicaitons I have ever used, and thanks for taking the time to read my post
