First of all, hi. Hope you can help, I don't really understand the problem I'm having...

I really like the look of this software, nice and simple with recording and all that. Perfect for what I want. But as you can see the problem is that I can't change the damn channels! Set-up is XP, Hauppage PVR-150 and of course GB-PVR. Got a standard coax aerial going into the card, works fiiine on other software like WinTV. I can pick up 4 BBC 1, 2, ITV and Channel 4 (no 5, we live in a valley!). Fine. Watching + manually scheduling programs is all good and proper but I want an EPG! I've tried a few and settled on GBPVR. Looks good, I can record, EPG is easy to navigate and all that.

Anyway, have set it up, EPG and all that. Click 'Live TV' and lo and behold, TV! I can record it manually and it is fine! However, clicking the plus/minus symbols at the bottom, whilst changing what the EPG description says, and logically, therefore the channel, it doesn't. It just sticks with whatever channel is currently there!

Weirdly, if I go onto DScaler or WinTV and change the channel (which works fine on both), then go back to GBPVR and click Live TV, it is the last channel I've seen in whichever bit of software. Kinda like GBPVR has lost the ability to change channel...

Dunno if that's relevant but I guess that's where I'm going wrong- I'm not very good at this kinda thing though to be honest...

Oh, and I got those channel numbers from DScaler, which scanned and assigned those numbers. They're the same as WinTV2000, so I guess out of the 60 or so available, each channel has a number... though if this is wrong please say!

Any other screenshots, just ask!

Thanks, much appreciated.

Jonny.

Hi. I have exactly the same setup as you, with exactly the same problem, haha. I also have a 150 card that I cannot change channel with from the gbpvr, I can change channels fine from the wintv2k. I have been "fiddling" with this for hours, and I cant seem to find a solution to this, does anyone know what could be wrong? help would be much appreciated Smile

Yeah, I don't use the keyboard either.

I had a think about what I could have done that fixed it- to be honest, the answers I give will be guesswork, pretty much.

Using the Tuning Assistant tool included with GBPVR, I scanned and wrote down all the frequencies + number it gives you for each channel. Then, went into WinTV2000 and changed it so each channel was tuned in with the frequency (in MHz). Once that was all done, I used FreqCopy. That's all I really changed/did. I'd try it, I'm really not sure whether this is what made it work or not, but it's the only thing I can think of...

Hi it is working for me now, I did what you said. But I had to do one more thing before it worked: configuration -> capture source -> edit -> settings for direct recording plugin -> cange tuning to cable. I dont know why this worked, because I use antenna o.O but it does hehe. Thanks for the help!
