hello, been searching the forums for a half hour, havnt found what i need

its simple

I got GB PVR, ive got comskip, comclean, and addepisode working correctly...almost

for the addepisode script, i cant seem to get the show and episode number to work--what do i change for that?
ideally i want my files to say ex: South Park 11x02 Carman Sucks.avi

More Importantly

I want to get GBPVR to automatically convert the MPG video to a XVID COMPRESSED AVI FILE

what do i need to do? ive turned on the auto transcode.
is there a way to see if its working or not?
were does it save to?

one minor detail: i installed the gbpvr to the dirrectory programfiles\GB PVR\
not the default. would that change anything?

I don't know if it would effect things in this specific case, but in general I'd say that installing in the default "program files\devnz\gbpvr" is preferred. I could imagine a plugin not being able to find the appropriate files as they are not in the expected place.
When you start transcoding, ffmep.exe should show up in taskmanager. Ofcourse that depends on what you have selected wrt to the moment it should transcode (asap, between xxx and yyy hrs, etc).

I think it saves to the same dir the recording is in.

svesnon14 Wrote:Hello, just Got GB PVR, ive been trying to figure this out all day and havnt gotten half way there.

2) Record shows back to back with no overlap problem

I'm not sure what you mean by this. If you want to record shows that overlap, you can set the amount of minutes of overlap GBPVR will allow in the config.xml.

Code:
<AllowedBeginningOverlap>3</AllowedBeginningOverlap>

Set it to 0 if you don't want overlapping shows to record.

svesnon14 Wrote:3) Transcode the MPG files to Xvid Compression .AVI format
4)Transcode anytime of day/night
5) Delete All original Files, keeping just the final renamed.avi

This can all be set on the Processing tab in the Config program. Add the following settings:

Code:
Start conversion between ASAP
X Delete original file after conversion (I would test everything before enabling this)
Auto_Convert DVR-MS recording to XVID
svesnon14 Wrote:6)change priorities for shows

Click the Reoccurring button when on the Recording page in GBPVR. The programs at the top get priority over the ones below. Order the shows by highlighting the show and using the <<| and |>> buttons to move the shows up and down the list. The changes won't take place until after GBPVR updates it's EPG.

svesnon14 Wrote:7)keep recording quality high but low size (dvrms for one ep of Southpark=1.5Gb, Avi =150mb)

I don't use GBPVR's autoconvert so you may have to tweak that one or use one of the external transcoding programs/scripts.

svesnon14 Wrote:I have the latest GB PVR version BUT, i installed it to he dirrectory "C:\Program Files\GB PVR"
NOT "C:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr\" --i dont know if that means i need to change things in the BAT files

Which bat files are you talking about?

Provided comcut and comclean are in the gbpvr directory, those should work. There's nothing in the postprocessing.bat to transcode to xvid unless you've got automatic encoding set in the gbpvr config app. I don't know anything about episode renaming.

Just wanted to point out the following from your postprocessing.bat
Renamerecording %

There is no parameter. I think you want a %1 there.
In addtion once it is renamed the addepisode won't work because it would be looking for the name before it was renamed which doesn't exist (if there is a subtitle). I suspect you only want one of those two to run, is that right?

The real question you want answered about autoconvert, sadly I don't know because I don't use it, but it seems like if you have mpegs it will convert to whatever you choose. I think the question is, if you use addepisode or renamerecording, does it still find the file and convert it.

Seeing if it converted it outside of gbpvr is simple, look at the extension. (if you have it turned on). Inside GB-PVR I don't think you can tell if it converted it - except for the xvid in the bottom corner.

ok i solved it....kinda

ok the code i gave you, after some option changes in the config of gbpvr,
IT WORKED, however it made one copy that was changed to XVID,
ANOTHER separate copy, that had the commercials cleaned,
and A THIRD copy that had the names changed

lol wow just what i wanted.....stupid program

so i gave up and i just now got ZProcess working

However, I am having troubles getting ZProcess to AUTOMATICALLY run AND perform Comskip,ComClean, and Transcode, after GBPVR is finished recording.

In addition, how do i make sure that the default format to transcode to is 2avi with xVID compression, every time i start up zprocess (manually) it has 2mvp selected

Commenting on the top portion.

It did this because you keep changing the name of the file so it doesn''t pick up the changed file name and keep processing the original file. You can make this work but the rename recording will probably have to be last, since you won't know the new name to call other programs with. There are easy ways to strip the extension off of the file and add the extension you created for subsequent processing.
