Dvico Fusion HDTV Card?

I was going back and forth about getting an HDTV card and was checking out what was on Ebay. Well, long story short, I threw in a really low bid for a HDTV card figuring it'd get sniped - and I ended up winning :eek:

I noticed it's on the list of supported hardware so that's reassuring, but does anyone have any experience with this card? It's a Dvico Fusion HDTV 1 (rev 3.0) PCI Card. Any comments or gotchas to look out for?

Also, this may be a basic question, but since I've never actually recorded HD before, can you pick the resolution that you want to record? ie. 1080i vs 720p or 480i, etc? Or are you stuck with what they broadcast at?

You get whatever resolution and bitrate the broadcaster transmits.

Hi flyswatta, I have a dvico fusion hdtv card and GBPVR works brilliantly with it. I had a lot of trouble recording SBS until I realised I was trying to record the HD stream. When I changed it to record the standard def channel I had no problems. The problem may be my computer which is just a athlon 1800+ with 512 Mb ram. I only mention this in case your head starts bleeding with frustration over why you keep getting failed recordings.

Thanks for the info. I really just want to use it for HD recordings, since I have 3 other analog tuners that I could use for regular content. I guess I'll play around with it and see if I can get it going...
