plugin wish:export play events to registry

this is really a wish for a plugin, or more like a util..
i would love to have some way to access the currently playing filename, whatever it may be, written to either a filename or a registry key...

this to use for, among other things, lcd info...
i can lookup the info needed from just the filename, but i have no idea how events work, nor have any other way to get this info..
i already have current livetv title/subtitle/descriptions working, and what's-recording's info also, just nothing for what's playing right now..

no features needed, just echo the info out of gbpvr somehow...
[either as text to a file, or to a reg. key, as LCDSmartie can read the registry easily and it's efficient,no file accesses]

Pweese? anyone know how to use events?

[other uses could be building a 'played' list for future suggestions of content]

i dont need to know which tuner, just what's playing on the gbpvr app as only one thing can be played at a time...tho knowing which tuner wouldn't hurt..

really i just want a simple 1 function plugin, just the filename or whatever is given out by the events..

i just don't get .net yet...lol

GB-PVR already has an events interface for notify plugins about:

CurrentAudioTrack,
CurrentVideoTrack,
CurrentChannelNumber,
CurrentChannelName,
VideoStopping,
MusicStopping,
DVDPlaybackStarted,
DVDPlaybackStopping,
MVPConnected,
MVPDisconnected,
ScreenSaverActivated,
ScreenSaverDeactivated,
CurrentVideoPath,
CurrentAudioPath

These are use by the couple of existing LCD plugins. You could use any of these events (and their arguments) to log to the registry or something if you wanted, by simply creating a small plugin.

i know it's possible, i just don't know how to do it...

i don't understand the structure needed to recieve the events, the lcd plugin got the info from the myvideos database, not sqlite, tho i guess the events came from same place..

i just figured this would be a no-brainer for somebody who understands the events system...could whip a tiny dll out in no time..
i'd turn it into a lcd plugin.. [the rest is already built]

ahh, looks like some new events in there for mvp..
i found an old plugin that looks like something even i can modify...hehe

not to mention i don't know where the lcdSmartie source is...was never released..not even the updates!? i had to repost the old plugin myself..
[for some reason it disappeared!]

this plugin doesn't do much more than i want so i won't even have to prune all that much..

thanx sub for the updated events list tho..will help make it more complete..
