Hi All,
Here to see if anyone might have an answer to a problem that's been low on my list but I figure I might as well fix now that I've re-formated my system.

When I change channels in LIVE-TV, the sound eventually goes out of sync with the video. If I change only 1 to 2 channels, not noticeable. It seems like each time I change, it introduces a little more delay until it's annoyingly apparent.

All I have to do is exit to the MENUs page then go back to LIVE-TV, everything's fine. This happened with the onboard AC97 sound and the new X-Fi sound.

Thoughts anyone?

System: AMD 2100XP, 1gb ram, Nvidia FX5200, X-Fi sound card, decoders NONCSS-Intervideo for audio and video.

Thanks everyone ;-)

I'd try using other audio decoders and/or audio renderer settings in the config app.

Did you ever find a fix to this?

I'm having exactly the same problem using the nVidia Purevideo video and audio codecs. As I change channels in LiveTV, the video begins to lag the audio until after about 10-15 channel changes the audio leads the video by more than 500ms. All other playback functions, including recorded TV, are fine, and it resynchs if I exit and re-enter, or after I press pause and then play (from the recorded signal).

I've tried the obvious things (VRM7/9/Overlay) and lots of other codec combinations (Cyberlink, Intervideo, Intervideo CSS, Mpeg2Dec, FFDShow, Nero etc.) but the nVidia is is the only one I can get to work properly and deliver AC3 and DTS over SPDIF for DVDs - with the others I just get PCM or audio with black screen, or video but no sound.

With the other codecs I haven't noticed the synch problem (need to do a bit more testing on this to be sure), so I think it may just be the nVidia ones, and possibly just the audio one.

System setup is ASUS K8V_SE deluxe, onboard AC97/SPDIF with Soundmax drivers; AMD Athlon-64 2800+ 1.8GHz, PVR150MCE tuner, Inno3d GeForce FX5500 video, WinXP/SP2. Audio rendering is via Soundmax digital.

Any advice in the synch problem would be most welcome; otherwise its back to trawling the forums for advice on how to get AC3/DTS working over SPDIF with this setup and other codecs. Everything else works great!

I had this problem before and I fixed it by setting the audio renderer option to 'system default'.

use overlay manager
pure video
system default for audio
not sure if your card has hardware acceleration (hardware mpeg decoder)
adjust setting while playing movie to see diference(audio & video)
icon should be in task bar and should only show up while playing video will only show up if you use overlay manager (will not if you use vmr etc)
icon is the same as the display one so you should see 2 icons the same in task bar(invidia icon)
when you open from there you will get audio and video settings for pure video
