Tooooo Slow

Installation and configuration with Plextor M402U (InterVideo WinDVR) was easy but Live TV is very very slow as compared to what I see when I watch Live TV directly on InterVideo WinDVR (without GBPVR). Please help.

Sorry, couldn't reply sooner as I was away.

My Reply:
By too slow, I do not mean changing the channel is slow. Watching one channel at a time is really really slow. Audio is good but video does not sync up with audio at all.

Configuration:
Dell Inspiron 9300 Intel Pentium M 1.73 GHz; 1 GB RAM; GBPVR 99.12; Plextor PX-M402U; InterVideo WinDVR 5

Unfortunately this device doesnt work very well with GB-PVR, and is slow to change channels.

You'd get much performance out of a device like the Hauppauge PVR150.

1) which external one works best with gb-pvr?

2) I have subscribed to Comcast Digital channels. Is it possible to get Digital Channels from a tv tuner?

You'd need a tuner that is capable of recording digital channels. What is comcast? Cable or sat? Either way, you'd need to find a capture card that can handle your type of transmissions.

So, short answer: yes, it's possible. And I'm not the right person to tell you how to, since I'm not in America and don't have much of a clue about your tv systems and capture cards. There are plenty of users on the forum, though. If no one answers here, I suggest you start a new thread on the topic.

Probably not directly. You'll likely need a set top box (STB) to tune the channels and feed it into a capture card via s-video or composite. That means you'll also need an IR blaster to change channels on the STB.

A couple of the TV tuners will directly tune digital channels that are in the clear (not scrambled). Some cable providers send out some digital channels non-scrambled, others don't.

Having said that, there are some who have had success recording from the STB using a firewire or usb connection but it depends on the STB and the cable provider. It's not very straightforward but there is some discussion about it elsewhere in the forums here and in other TV and video related forums.
