I just got GBPVR up and running with a Hauppauge WinTV-HVR-1600. I'm using only the ATSC tuner. My video card is an XFX GeForce 6800GT.

Several of the channels I'm pulling in have jagged video on the top or left edge. I want to get rid of it. I've looked at the zoom control/overscan settings in the config.xml file, but before I start messing around too much I'd like to be clear on what they do. I can't find anything in the documentation. Which settings should I be tweaking if I want to hide the jagged edges on my ATSC channels? Will they still be visible in my recordings even if they are not visible in the player?

Please let me know if you need any more info to answer my questions.

Cheers,
Brent

If this jagged edge is close to the edge of the screen, the first setting I'd try tweaking is the <HorizontalZoom> setting in config.xml. Hopefully increasing it a small amount will push this off the edge of the screen.

Yes. These are part of the MPEG stream. GB-PVR cannot tell it not to record this.
