Convert your HD! dvr-ms and mpg into dvd compatible files using the avivo codecs with the atixcode.exe cmdline encoder..Smile
If you have a modern ATI video card you already have it, comes with catalyst drivers..
other video card users can install the old avivo package, works with any video card..
Help from the executable:
Quote: Usage: AtiXcode.exe args

/Rn read argments from registry(/S0 = off, /S1=on, default is on.
All previously read values will be over written.

/Sn file scan (/S0 = off, /S1=on, default is on)

/Xn transcode from database (/X0 = off, /X1=on, default is on)

/Fxxx folder to scan OR source file name (def = MCE's folder from registry)

/An Automatically generate output file name. Used with /F. /F specifies an output folder.(/A0=off,/A1=on)

/Dxxx Destination folder OR destination filename(def = Source Folder/ATIXCode)

/Exxx file extension to accept (def = DVR-MS)

/Vn Output Video Format
(
1 - MPEG1,
2 - MPEG2,
3 - VCD,
4 - SDVD,
5 - DVD,
6 - MPEG4 DIVX,
7 - WMV9,
8 - WMV9 PortMediaCenter,
9 - H264,[verylowbitrate]
10 - MPEG4 (PSP compatible video),
11 - H.264 (iPod compatible video)
)

/Mn Max files to find in scan, max files to transcode (/M0=no limit)

/Qn Quality (/Q2=default, 1 (low), 2 (medium), 3 (high))

/Lxxx Transcoder log file (/L0 off)

/Tnnn Transcoder time limit in minutes (/T0=no limit)

to use in video library, copy the atixcode.exe to the gbpvr\third party\ dir and here's a sample customffmpegconfig line:
[atixcode.exe file usually in C:\Program Files\Common Files\ATI Technologies\Multimedia\]
Code:
<Conversion name="AvivoXcode" exe="atixcode.exe" cmd=" IDLE /F{SOURCE_FILE} /A0 /S0 /R0  /EMPG /V4 /Q3 /X0 /D{DEST_FILE}.ati.mpg" targetExtension="" />
which will convert any file you input[anything that can be read by Dshow filters] to svcd[480x480] for MVP input or just storage..

just change the /v4 to /v5 for dvd compliant files, /v6 for divx-avi, etc.
adjust the extension[.ati.mpg part] accordingly to your desired output file type..
note the psp and ipod and divx-avi output types!

the fastest encoder out there, better than realtime on most systems..
cons: only 3 quality levels, run the avivoxcode.exe to see the bitrates..
lowest [/q1] quality for dvd is 4000k and highest for sdvd is 3000k.

I´m useing the old avivo package, my executable isn´t atixcode.exe but avivoxcode.exe and it doens´t respond to any of the commandline args you posted.

I'm pretty sure only the atixcode.exe supports command line arguments.
You would have to install it in order for this to work...

ahh, i hadn't noticed but that's the MCE transcoder that's installed with MCE..
if you download the latest avivo codec update, you can extract it from inside..
the atixcode.dll is installed for everyone, so it's just the MCE transcoder that is needed [atixcode.exe]
i'll see if i can find a direct link, but just extracting it from avivo codec install works fine...

i'm using it on a XP-Pro machine to test so i know it runs without anything special other than that file...
[normally it's installed right next to avivoxcode.exe]

wondering if any objections to posting it? [only 19k]

Found info about installing updated ATI AVIVO, posted at Doom9 by Flexy (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=114994)

I made some changes, here it goes:

HOW TO INSTALL
----------------

First, look on google etc. for a file called
AvivoVideoConverter1_12.rar

This is a modified older installation for ALL cards since the original ATI installer doesnt work (AFAIK) on anything less than X1900.

Download the latest ATI Catalyst "complete avivo package" on

https://support.ati.com/ics/support/...e&folderID=293 (may not work, but you can find the complete avivo package inside the driver section of any X1900) and begin the installation just to extract the files (cancel after that).

Install the before mentioned package 1.12....then from the "avivo package" from the lastest AVIVO drivers (what you just downloaded and extracted) you ONLY need the dll-files and atixcode.exe which you (after the install) can find in a .cab file in C:\ATI\support\xcode_*****\AVIVO

unregister the old dlls with CMD
regsvr32 -u "C:\program files\ati technologies\atidvcr.dll"
regsvr32 -u "C:\program files\ati technologies\atixcode.dll"

Extract the dlls and the atixcode.exe in that cab file (winzip/winrar etc.) and copy 'em over where the older package moved the old dlls from the 1.2 package. (In C:\program files\ati technologies)

and re-register the *new* dlls (the ones you just coped over) with

regsvr32 "C:\program files\ati technologies\atidvcr.dll"
regsvr32 "C:\program files\ati technologies\atixcode.dll"
regsvr32 "C:\program files\ati technologies\atimcenc.dll

Then you can start the executable AvivoXcode.exe... (in c:\program files\ati technolgies)
atixcode.exe is the CMD-line version.
