All along my installation is OK watching LiveTV as well as recordings. I am not sure what silly things that I have done but starting one day I am no longer being able to watch LiveTV.

I attach a log in case you can see what has gone wrong for me.

You should explicitly select the decoders rather than relying on 'system default'. You've probably added or removed some app that has changed the default decoders.

Sub,

I think what has happened is that I have installed the Ulead MovieFactory that changed the default decoder. I used GSpot and it is the Ulead video decoder that was chosen.

Something strange that I could not understand is that, after I have removed Ulead MovieFactory, GSpot could not show what decoder that is used but only says that DirectShow says it can play it. In that case, I don't know which decoder is being used and I do not know which decode should I be choosing explicitly.

Which video decoders do you have listed as options on the playback tab of the config app?

I figure out now...

The problem is with ULEAD MovieFactory which show have changed my default video/audio decoder/renderer. It changes it to that of ULEAD.

After some try and error, I should be using:

Video Decoder: Nero Video Decoder
Audio Decoder: Nero Digital Audio Decoder
Audio Renderer: DirectSound : Realtek AC97 Audio

Sub, I have in fact the following questions:

 1. Is ULEAD video decoder not usable in GBPVR?
 2. Why are there so many audio rendered with similar name. Mine installation have the following:
• Readtek AC97 Audio
 • CyberLink Audio Renderer (PDVD6)
 • Default DirectSound Device
 • Default WaveOut Device
 • DirectSound : Realtek AC97 Audio
No two video decoders behave the same. This one isnt a commonly used one, and not one I've ever tested myself. It may not work with GB-PVR.
This is normal. I've not seen a good description of why they decided to create these several different abstractions of the same physical device. I'm sure the developers wanted to get something different out of each one they created.
