hey... i'm using zap2it with brighthouse networks in birmingham, alabama and my channel order is all out of whack in my tv guide (and when i use channel up/down when watching live tv).

most of it is okay.... but forwhatever reason channel 12 is stuck at the very beginning and a few other channels are swapped around. i've downloaded the zap2it program listings several times and every time the order is slightly jumbled.

any way to fix this?

Is this 'channel 12' the TV station or channel 12 in GBPVR? In the config app have checked the channel numbers are ok?

my zap2it feed is wrong. It has 3 channels way at the end. It thinks they're in the 100s. I think its a problem with them.

Zap2it has also been slowly adding these junk channels to my EPG over the last half year. I've tried emptying and reloading the EPG to no avail. I've even tried making an entirely new Zap2It account which also resulted in failiure. Is there any way that I can manually delete these extra channels?

Nope, unchecking the offending channels doesn't get rid of them.

This works for me... I don't need HSN (and others) in my lineup :p

Pulling labs.zap2it.com channel listings can be tricky. If GB-PVR has no existing channels corresponding to those in the zap2it XML, it simply add new channels at the bottom of your existing list. So if GB-PVR has channels 2, 4, and 6; then zap2it adds channels 3, 5, and 7, the list in GB-PVR will be ordered as:

2, 4, 6, 3, 5, 7

and you can get some wacky channel #s if you don't hand edit them in the config application.

My own situation is tricky, I have a satellite receiver with channels in the 100-600, then 6000-7000, then 8000-9000 ranges. I also have an ATSC tuner which ideally would use the PSIP major.minor channel #s (e.g. 2.3).

I came up with a GB-PVR numbering scheme for the ATSC channels that works well for me: I assigned them to the channel range 1xxx, so that:

1MMm where MM = major channel #, and m = minor channel #.

I picked 1xxx because it didn't interfere with the satellite channels.

My advice to those of you experiencing weird channel order is to clear your entire channel database, then manually update EPG from zap2it.com. This will put all the online channels in their proper order. You can then edit channel information as you like in the config app.

If zap2it.com is doing weird things with your channels (adding and removing them) you'll have to get handy doing this procedure, or at least editing the channel list by hand.

A couple of times zap2it.com changed their whole ATSC channel numbering scheme on me and I had to completely redo everything each time. Fun!
