Hi folks,
After an arial upgrade, a new Videomate T750 mew coaxle cable and a few other things. I have decided that it must be the Freeview transmitter that is prevent ing me from recieving all of the channells. At the moment I can only get between 10 - 15 channells, no matter what changes to hardware/software that i do. My next step is to purchase a cheap freeview box to see if that can pick up more channels.

But in the meantime does anybody here use the Durris transmitter near Aberdeen? What is your reception like?

Please stop me from goin insane

Did you have a previous card which gave you all the channels, or is this your first go at freeview on your PC?

Have you tried setting the card up using the supplied (compro) software and if so do you get the same results?

Do you know which freeview multiplexors you are actually receiving - startup config, select your digital source and edit - in the tunng request column you should see the channel name followed by (T:Cnn,... where 'nn' is a two digit number - which number(s) do you get and how many of each?

Have a look at http://www.ukfree.tv/txdetail.php?a=NO763899 especially the table headed 'Mux Effective power graph' which shows that Durris transmissions are fairly weak except for MUX 1 which transmitts some of the BBC channels (which is probably what you are currently getting). However, it also says that work is being carried out during the month of June.

I tune to Angus and until a couple of months ago, I had similar problems: I was using a powered splitter/amplifier to serve 4 TVs from one antenna. One of my Freeview set-top boxes was perfect, my other STBs and my pc TV card suffered from intermittant signals. I bit the bullet and replaced my umpteen year old antenna with a brand new one complete with new cabling (still using the splitter) and everything has been fine since.
