I have installed this plugin twice and it does not show up in the GBPVR config/plugin list. Is there something to look for? I am running GBPVR v.99.5.
I installed the lastest version of the SearchWizard Plugin.

Most likely it is a DLL conflict with a supporting DLL. Take a look at this post (http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=26052) for supporting DLLs (CommonDLLs.zip).

If that does not work, post your logs on this thread, and I'll take a look (ie. zip all your files in the logs sub-directory).

Hi!

Just tried to test out your MovieWizard, but didn't had success to see this within the config-screen.

I think this can be, because my CommonGBPVRUtilities.dll has another Version then your one: 3.0.2822.33715

No, i won't downgrade the used version. I can't understand why the usage of this .dll is so heavy to use. A lot of plugins uses "their" only one version of these Utilities. This can't be, i can not all the time replace and change the version of this dll independent of what plugin i plan to use (weather plugin, game zone, movie wizard).

A PVR should be "Klick and Play" and nothing more. I would be happy if GB-PVR could make an Utility.dll version-standard so that ALL developers use only ONE version.

And now i have the problem to remove this plugin. There was an Installer, yes, but no uninstall ist available... Undecided

MovieWiz does not use CommonGBPVRUtilities.dll.

The old version of SearchWiz used a DLL called WizUtilities.DLL that referenced CommonGBPVRUtilities.DLL. The new versions of SearchWiz (SearchWizX2) and MovieWiz use a DLL named WizUiUtilties.DLL. There was a common method (logMessage) that was used in both DLLs. If you are not using the old version of SearchWiz, you may remove the WizUtilities.DLL which will solve the problem. Otherwize, the next version of MovieWiz and SearchWizX2 will resolve this problem.

To remove WizUtilities.DLL, do the following:
  • Shut down GPBVR or PVRX2, and the recording service
  • find WizUtilities.DLL and rename it to WizUtilities.DLL_OLD
  • Start back up.
There should be no conflict now.

Additionally, to remove the Plugin, simply :
  • delete Plugins/MovieWiz directory
  • delete Skins2/Blue/MovieWiz directory

Sorry, I missed this message when it was posted.

I am only supporting the new version of SearchWiz, but here are some pointers for getting the correct version installed based on your GBPVR version....

1) If you are using an old GBPVR prior to 1.0.x, you want to download and install the legacy SearchWiz plugin. On the wiki it is denoted with the comment (compatible with GBPVR 99.x)

2) If you are using the new version of GBPVR 1.0.x AND the new UI PVRX2, you need the SearchWizX2 download. It should run just like any other PVRX2 plugin (remember to run config and save settings prior to 1st run in PVRX2).

3) If you are using the new GBPVR (1.0.x) with the old UI (GBPVR vs PVRX2), you again should download the legacy plugin, but then you must also:
  • Create a new directory - Plugins/LegacyPlugins
  • Move the SearchWiz.DLL from Plugins to Plugins/Legacy
I believe the SearchWiz should show up in config, AND in the old UI.

And sorry because of my rude post above.

No offense taken Wink

- What version of GBPVR are you running?

If I understand, you've installed the most current version of MovieWiz off the wiki, and it does not show in the config program. Correct me if I am wrong.

In order to help, I'll have to see the log files. Pls do the following:
  • Shut down config and the GBPVR UI
  • Delete the files in your gbpvr/logs directory (some of them may not delete, that's ok).
  • Start the config program.
  • Go to the plugins tab
  • If the MovieWiz plugin shows, modify the settings in it.
  • Close the config program
  • Start up GBPVR (or PVRX2 if you use the new UI)
  • Let the program fully load (ie. wait for about 1-2 minutes)
  • Close GBPVR
  • Zip up all the files in the gbpvr/logs directory and post to this thread.
I'll take a look at the logs and see what's going on...

The latest, GB-PVR 1.0.16 with all available Hotfixes.

This is absolutely correct.

Ok, done as you adviced. Your plugin doesn't appear within the configtab, but i followed your advice to the end.
As attachement, here are my logs.
