I love this plugin!

I feel like i'm at the Video Store each time I browse in it hehe

so I have run into some problems and I need to change to adjust to this plagin.

The problem is in the names of my current files:

Current Format is as follows:

Survivor Micronesia -- Fans vs. Favorites_20080207_20002100.mpg
Dust to Glory (2005) [PG]_20080207_14001545.mpg

I can see that this format kills the auto insert as i;m sure there will be wrong matches etc...

I am using a yahoo XMLTV enhancer.

Is it possible to configure one of the enhancers to include proper info that the moviewiz plugin will love?

such as episode numbers etc..?

at a glance I know I need to remove any ratings and year from my guide listing titles.

What are your thoughts?

That format actually doesn't look too bad. When looking up the title, MovieWiz will attempt to parse out the title from the filename into something resonable.

I don't have the code in front of me, but I believe it looks for the 1st _ and drops anything after, then it drops text surrounded by [], any trailing _ or - gets dropped as well.

I'll take a look at the two titles you supplied and try to determine why you didn't get hits on them.

One thing that I notice happens is that it will get several hits, in the auto mode, it will not make a match because there is no clear winner. The manual mode will display all the hits and allow you to choose the appropriate entry.

MovieWiz retrieves episode information for shows from TheTvDb.com. It will look at that site under two conditions:
  1. If retrieving show info when importing a recording, if the EPG entry (ie row in the Programme table) for that show has both name (series) AND sub_title (episode) entries. If match not found, EPG data will be used to pre-populate the fields.
  2. During manual retrieval using MovieWizManager, set the title field to Series|Episode (ie put the | character between Series and episode). If entry cannot be found on TheTvDb.com, program will attempt to locate match on IMDB.

that is great news!

I wasn't sure if I had to do anything to get this info.

most of my shows have generic info but I'm sure the new recordings will have the info as long as i use moviewiz in gbpvr and not the stand alone version

thanks!
