I just installed a Hauppauge Nova-T 500 on my Pc with a PVR150 MCE (w/o remote). They work fine except for the remote: it don't play !
I have installede and reinstallet software and driver but nothing.
Have anyone an advice for me?

Thank you

as a first punt, try switching the remote cable to the other tuner.

it has to do with the order in which the tuners are installed. I can;t remember the exact details, i'll try and find an earlier post of mine.

I can't do it. PVR150 MCE hasn't a plug-in for the remote cable.

I've heard reports before that you need to install the card with the remote last.
so possibly uninstalling all software, unplug the cards.
Then install the card without the remote, install drivers.
install card with remote, install drivers.

I am assuming that when you start ir.exe it then dies?

If so it can;t attach to the device that it thinks it is supposed to attach to .
read this thread and see if it helps any.

http://www.hauppauge.co.uk/board/showthread.php?t=7347

you want you registry entry for the nova-t to say

IRPort = 0x00
I2Ctype = 0x00

if ir.exe IS running, have run run the "fix hauppague 45 button remote" in config.exe and restarted ir.exe?

I remove the PVR 150MCE and leave the Nova-T500 alone; I remove all software and drivers and reinstall them for Nova-T500 only. Nothing, the remote icon is near the clock but it doesn't work.
Are there some Microsoft patches or bios settings to try ?

no MS patches or bios updates are required to make the remote work (as far as I know)

when you say it doesn't work, do you mean that none of the buttons work in ANY application (gbpvr, Windows media player)

after you have reinstalled the drivers, you need to click on the "fix hauppague 45 button remote " again so that it adds the gbpvr details to c:\windows\irremote.ini. then you need to restart ir remote for these changes to take effect.

what happens if you press the green power button on the top right ?

(if the pc enters standby this means that the sensor is working but there may be a problem with ir.exe)

make 100% sure that you have pushed the remote connector into the pci-card. Sometimes the PC case slots can prevent the connector from being inserted correctly if you do not have the card exactly central in it's slot.

I can't think of anything else just at the moment.

It doesn't work with any applications. If I push the green button, it does nothing. I begin to think I have a broken card.....

Have you tried the 150 on its own without the Nova-t to see if the remote will work at all then?
