The next release is available for download. You can get it from http://www.gbpvr.com/GBPVR0193.msi

You'll need to uninstall any existing version, but you can retain some of your settings by renaming config.xml to config.retained before uninstalling. This will happen automatically in future releases.

From the change.log

2004-7-26 v0.19
- Corrected a problem with the MVP when two or more NICs are installed in the server
- Now able to directly boot MVP without using Hauppauge software. This still requires a DHCP server to be available for the MVP to get an IP address on you network. Home networking routers often contain DHCP servers. Also, if you have Windows ICS (Internet Connection Sharing) enabled, this acts as a DHCP server.
- Improved FF/RW on MVP. Previously it behaved very badly on many MPEG2/MPEG1 files.
- More reliably handling MVP power cyle and standby cycle.
- MVP updating the current play position more often. Previously it could be out of date for a second or so after skipping or durring FF/RW.
- Fixed a couple of problems with GO7007SB recordings for NTSC users.
- Implemented event notification plugin mechanism to allow developer to write support for LCD support etc. These plugins need to implement IEventNotification - see the developer forum for more detail.
- Added Bleb.org EPG plugin for UK users. Much easier to set up and use than XMLTV, but doesn't have quite as many channels available. Give it a go.
- Changes to the skin files. If you'd like to change the background image, this is now much easier. Simply save the image as background.jpg in c:\program files\devnz\gbpvr\skin\<Current Skin>.
- Main menu now wraps around. Also scrolls if too many items are on the front menu. Flat Blue skin is now using a new approach to main menu buttons, which keeps the active selection centered. These styles are configurable in the skin files.
- Fixed a problem with deleting failed season recordings.
- A few changes to the recordings screen to separate out ready/pending/reoccurring recordings. Hopefully people find this easier to read.
- New setup program. Installshield which I previously used, was driving me nuts. This has also required a slight change to the version numbering scheme. Minor version numbers will now use numbers not letters.
- Channels now wrap around in live tv when using the up and down buttons. Same thing applies to mini guide.
- Added system menu option to get window to stay in the foreground. Right click on the GB-PVR task in taskbar to see its system menu.
- Added an option to allow you to use a short skip instead of FF/RW. It defaults to 10 seconds but can be changed in config.xml if required.
- Several small improvements for net radio. Also, fixed a bug that would cause Net Radio to be very slow starting.
- Added option with USB-UIRT and IR200L IR blasters to send "Enter" key after channel digits.
- Added a "search guide" screen. I may add more search options in future, but at least it is a start.
- Added FM Radio support - requires capture card that supports it (such PVR350/PVR USB2/PV258TF) and LAME MP3 encoder filter to be installed. You can get this free from http://www.elecard.com/ftp/pub/directsho...dshow.zip.
- Added option in direct.ini to force mono and also to change the language channel used for recordings.
- Added daily comic plugin. I've made the comics as big as I can on the screen. Most are readible, but the occasional one has text that is a bit too small.
- Added an option to season record with a timeslot.
- Showing sub-title in a few more places if it is available.

i don't know, if this is the right place, but i have to say some words:

this new release, combined with the new flat-blue style (i changed it a bit) is just what i was waiting for! great work!

one little problem: how can i force gbpvr to not change the aspect ratio of some movies? i have a movie in cinemascope and some of my dvd's are too. is there any option?

keep it up!

dottore, I gave it a go to get the aspect ratio working in the last release, but I didn't get it quite right and ran out of time so I removed it at the last minute. Unforunately I was finding the OSD was pinned to the size of the video, so if I was forcing 16:9 etc the OSD wasn't at the bottom of the screen. I still plan to do this, but I just didn't really leave myself enough time to solve this last week.

The bleb EPG source has two minor problems that I know of. I tried to sort these out before the release but I got no feedback from any of the pre-release testers on this, so I decided it could go out to the public as-is:

- a few of the channels I couldn't find a link to the station icon, so the I left them as sky sports 3 (cut and paste error)

- the default channel numbers aren't right, meaning all bleb users will need to change the numbers when they first setup their capture source.

If any UK based user can help out, it would be much appreciated. If you take a look in bleb-channels.xml, you'll see the channelNumber field needs to be updated and also the iconURL on a small number of channels incorrectly points to skysports3.jpg.

Have just installed v.019 which is much more stable than the previous version, however, I've found a couple of wee niggles:

i) the weather plugin didn't work until I copied the .dll from the separate download (v.2.03) on top of the one that the installer placed in the folder

ii) I can now only get any one (of my two MVPs) working at anytime (they hang "looking for servers" until the other is turned off, and the that one hangs if turned back on).

Other than that a nice piece of software, which is much better than the Hauppage front end. I might even have a go at developing some Plug-ins myself once I've finished writing next year's lecture notes ;)

i) GB-PVR v0.19 doesn't install the weather plugin, so it must have been some file already on your hard drive. The only plugin installed with v0.19 is the new comics one.

ii) I cant think of any changes I've made which should affect this. I've only got the one MVP so an unable to confirm this myself. Can anyone else with multiple MVPs confirm this problem?

Very nice feature! [Image: smile.gif]

One little thing.. if you only want to play the radio (live), then you don't need the mp3 encoder you just have to attach the Preview Audio from Capture to the Default DirectSound Device in the graph. Of course, it would be nice to be able to record from the radio later on and then the mp3 encoder is needed.

The search guide is great! but it would be nice to be able to use |< and >| to jump up and down the list (I never thought there would be so many shows starting with "the" [Image: smile.gif]), or maybe some new pg-up and pg-down buttons could be made so it doesn't interfer with the mp3's you're listening to (red and yellow or green and blue for example).

Overall, a nice big step forward!  [Image: biggrin.gif]

yes, but that wouldnt work on th MVP...

Supporting the XCard and MVP means I have slightly different issues to deal with than some of the other software out there.

I'm going to monitor feedback on the search, and fully expect to implment some changes. Yes, I should really have added a page up/down. We'll wait and see wait the general user consensus is for other changes. The public may demand an entirely different type of search.

A couple of tips, titles starting with 'The' or 'A' are treated as special cases. If you are seaching for the 'The Nomad' you can start the search with 'T' or 'N'. Likewise for 'A shot in the dark' - 'A' or 'S'. Yes, I realise that its still a hassle for second words that start with 'A' or 'T' - but its better than no search, and I'm happy to change it based on feedback from users.
