I've installed 1.0.8 on Windows Vista and am getting the following error: "No channels have been set up..." when attempting to watch Live TV using the old interface - I haven't really tested out the new interface yet. I'm using a Hauppauge 350. The config application did detect my card and pulled the listing from Zap2It. Hauppauge's WinTV2000 application works fine detecting channels and watching TV. I've attached the logs.

Thanks,
David

I'm assuming you've got a digital capture device but didnt do the 'map digital channels to epg channels' step in the config app?

I should've mentioned that that I am using the PVR-350 on analog cable. So my "Recording Source" is the "Direct Recording Plugin" and so I can't to the "Map digitial channels..."

Are you running on Vista?

Its most likely Vista file protection getting in the way.

Delete c:\users\<Account name>\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\Devnz\gbpvr\gbpvr.db3, then try again. The AppData is hidden, but there.

It's better, but still not totally working. I did delete the file and now I've got TV Guide data. If I select Live TV, the screen flips from the menu to a black screen and then after a second or two, goes back to the menu. I played around with the MPEG-2 Playback settings including the Video Renderer and eventually got it to work once. Then I rebooted tried it again, but it is back to the black screen for a second or two. I also tried to new interface, but it behaved exactly the same. I've attached the logs incase it gives a clue as to the problem. It does not contain the time that I got it to sucessfully run as I had deleted the logs after that.

I can see a few attempts to use the 'MPV Video Decoder' in your logs, but its not registered (or not properly), so its not managing to find a usable MPEG2 decoder.

I got it working Sub. Based on you seeing that the decoder wasn't registered, I went and tried to regsvr32 the .ax and got a 0x80007005 (access is denied). I then ran it again as an administrator and it registered. Next I tried LiveTV, but it still went away after a second or two. So I uninstalled everything, disabled UAC (User Account Control), rebooted, and reinstalled. LiveTV works perfect now!!!

So just to make things more fun, I enabled UAC again and rebooted. LiveTV stopped working. Disabled UAC and rebooted again, then LiveTV worked. So UAC apparently doesn't like my GBPVR setup. I can live without it.

Thanks,
David
