ZProcess: cmdline cannot be parsed

Still probing into the utility, I found zprocess generates invalid commandline to mencoder for the soft equalizer to videoformat (on my system):

It seems that it reacts to the comma sign there... could it be that it should be a period and that this is because of my locale setting? E.g. the notation of "one and a half" is in Sweden "1,5", not "1.5"

THanks for finding the problem and the solution, As said I won't be able to fix the current ZProcess, but that's a great thing to check for in ZProcess 2.

I've had some trouble with the different international locations, mostly from Sweden. Maybe that's 'cause you guys notice more...

Unfortunately, I did so many tweaks to make ZProcess roll with the international punches, that I can't remember them all. So with your help, I'll need to make several more changes...

Yes, I did the obvious thing there and it is now busy transcoding that xvid (batch mode, not on the fly). BTW, I am experiencing problems similar to what others have reported in the forum. ffmpeg, e.g., gave up processing that file after 5-6 minutes.
I like mencoder... it creates nice mpeg transcoding of dvd with decent speed. I also like the possibility to raise the volume there.

For the new zprocess, I would like to see a very simple initial config. All users (with MVP transcoding needs) are likely to know some few important properties of their systems, like PAL or NTSC, 4:3 or 16:9 TV screens etc. Based on that proper initial settings can be created.

I have a requirement list (or a wishlist, rather) for DVD functionality. The main idea is that after acquiring some info about the DVD disc, some GUI could be presented based on that where the user can make a few important choices. Audio and subtitle stream, main movie or a specific episode. Or is it too early? I mean, you are probably still recovering from the accident.

I changed the locale setting in the control panel to get the US type of formatting. That solved the first case, i.e. transcode from within zprocess. GBPVR is still wrong on-the-fly. When I noticed no change of behavior of GBPVR, I restarted the machine. That did not help either.
What can I do? Should I reinstall something?

If the formatting is Swedish when on-the-fly and US when manual, it indicates that ZProcess is being launched in two different sessions: your user profile's Desktop Session and the System Session. My guess is that you don't have the GB-PVR Recording Service 'Allowed to interact with the desktop'.

I have no way of piping (is that the word?) info between sessions, and so ZProcess requires the GB-PVR service to run in the desktop session.

It's probable that ZProcess is coming up with defaults in the System Session and that's why the data is different too.

I hope I naled this one, because I have no idea why else this would happen.

Thanks for that idea. Seems to be a probable cause there with different sessions, yes. GBPVR recording service runs under local system. It is allowed to interact with the desktop, I determined that. (That box was ticked in the services panel).

But maybe I should not bother too much about this, unless there is a simple solution (there must be... I search a bit) and rather wait for the zprocess2. :-)

Fixed. I had to enable US English in more places in the control panel. The locale change I made initially only applied on user level.
