Hi

I thought about an idea to show description's for video files in a very easy way

The general idea is to place a text file containing some text in the folder where the video is. The user will give the text file the same name as the video file just with txt extension. Same as you can do with JPG files. This could then be displayed by using one of the color buttons in the Video Library.

I know that there are quit a few Plug-ins that provide this but they are all based on automatic content from web sites. The beauty of this is that the user will be able to update, change or edit the content of the deception however they choose and not rely on automatic downloads from the web. I am from Israel and a lot of my content is Hebrew so no Plug-in would offer a solution

thanks

Jonx

you can't use .txt as comskip uses that extension for it's files so would have to find some other one..
and you could use a command line with sqlite3.exe and edit the descriptions yourself..[or any decent sqlite editor,i use sqlite expert personal ed.]

This is what the My Videos plugin did. You placed a text file with the same name as the video but with the extension .details and it would import it into the database.
