OK, I know there's the Video Archive (VA) plugin (which I use) and pBs super simple archiver, but I really only ever use VA for the Autoarchive function... but..as I almost exclusively use Xrecord (fave plugin), I'd like to wishlist an "autoarchive after X Days" for Xrecord.

THAT would be great and one less resource-hungry plugin for me.... any chance of that fellers ??

Put in a feature request at the CDK and Xrecord sourceforge site. We do monitor that site.

Would automating XRecord's existing archive feature be good enough? I never even tried it. It moves the recording's media file along with ".dat", ".vprj", ".txt" to the XVideoPath1 set in XRecord's config tab. It runs in a separate low priority thread and will start by running onarchive.bat if present.

I have not played with this before.

if I choose "archive" it will just move it to the location I have it set to??

if I do setup a onarchive.bat will it still move to the set location, or just put it where the .bat tells it to.
like if I set the .bat to convert and move based on other variables, what will it do??

if I do not create the .bat file, and to transfers it to the specified location, will it still appear in the "ready" menu??
what about "ready" in the default GBPVR menu or just in the Xrecord "ready"??

also
what is .vprj??

Sure fla, that sounds fine.

As long as it knows I want to Archive shows every (say) 14 days with the dir structure and the comskip (txt) files and doesn't overwite files in a similar existing dir, that's all I need really! Big Grin.

I guess it could get fancy later, with shows marked as Movies being archived in One Dir and TVShows in another, but I am not sure how you'd assign them those tags. I'd prefer to do that marking in EWA at the time of recording...but that's getting complicated .... UJB?

It seems to do an export and move the media and associated comskip files like vprj (by looking at the code). You should try it out with a test recording just to see how it works.

The onarchive.bat is run first if it's there so if it transcodes/moves the files, the archive code that follows won't find them and won't do anything. XRecord also has transcoding support (which I never tried).

Hi fla,

Any advances on the Xrecord Autoarchive front? I'd dearly love to uninstall videoArchive, it (Autoarchive) is the only reason I keep VA as a plugin.

Will do... that and also a request for an updated Icon Download facility?
Also this post, which takes you to that one.

So, how will I know when your skining works is complete?

Cheers,

k.
