So I got an email sent to me today from a colleague for a "scratch & win" comp from MS.
I gave it a go, and ended up winning a copy of Visa Home Prem. (as did the guy sitting beside me)

Has anyone else seen this? (NZ)
I was only able to send it on to people in my work email domain, no sure where it originally came from.

Is Vista Home a good package? Much to learn compared to XP Pro?

Thanks

Yeah I had this, and "won" Office 2007 Professional. Hasn't turned up yet, and beginning to wonder if it's a hoax and a database grab of peoples names.

It's going through my company (large American one )....

I thought it might be a scam - but it would not have been worth MS's reputattion to do this.

I hope not. It did go through to Microsoft's site - but who knows. It seemed strange that myself and another "won" a copy of Visa Home, when it said there was only 100 copies to give away (this might be per countyr?)

I just took a look and my email came from microsoft.co.nz - which is why there was prob only 100 copies. I'll let you know if I receive it Stustunz.

This is only to my work address, where we pretty much use exclusively MS products - so it may have had something to do with that (seeing as I could only send it to colleagues in my company)

The "from" on an email means nothing. I sent a mail to my brother as george.bush@whitehouse.gov that said something stupid and he beleived it was genuine for a minute.

Yeah, I was more meaning that this was the NZ branch of MS.
(which a scam wouldbe less likely to be used)

But actually, it could be a scam - who knows. I'll just turn the companies spam filters onto it.
And they have my work mailing addy - not mine.

BTW how do you do the 'scratch' bit on an email...

Seriously tho' - this is not a good thing - whether it's a spam, a scam or a wham-bam-thank-you-mam, MS are not giving out free software!

Whatever it is, please don't pass it on...Cool
