I have a problem with the forum date format on THIS forum only.
  1. Dates show up as e.g. 08-14-2007, 06:09 AM.
  2. I'd like to see 14-08-2007, 06:09 AM.
I have a US Keyboard as input language and UK English with pounds changed to $ as Regional Settings.

Using the same Browser in the same session (new tab) all other forums I visit, shows up as (2) above. There is no seperate CP option to change this ... I tried a UK Keyboard (no go, and it swaps @ and " around :-( )... soooooo.....how do I do it???

Are you on firefox?? There's a language setting on there that isn't always correct for non us people. Tools | Options | Advanced - languages there on the bottom.

I'm fairly sure with vbulletin there is only one global date format. It doesnt matter what the user browser settings are.

I've switched it from US date format to ISO date format (yyyy-mm-dd), which might be a little more acceptable to everyone.

Ah. Thanks sub! (sorry Martin). So if another vbulletin user e.g.

http://www.linksysinfo.org/forums/forumd....php?f=135

had UK date format, then all US/NA)users just have to wear that (tee hee.. :-) )

I seem to remember with the old forums (pre vBulletin), I could customise my locale to show my 'prefered' date settings - maybe I'm wrong.

The time on the vBulletin forums has always followed my system clock, i.e., it's currently showing that all times are GMT+1 as we're currently on daylight savings here. It'll switch back to GMT automatically in the autumn (I think). I always wondered why date format didn't apply - no biggy. The 'reverse' ISO format at least puts the month in the middle instead of at the beginning (as with the US format). Having a forum show your own date/time format can be more comfortable sometimes though.

But then again...I have no concept of time anyway. It's currently 2:37AM and I'm about to have my main meal of the day and watch a few hours of recorded TV. What day is it??? Big Grin

Cheers,
Brian

It's a setting Sub can change in the admincp using the php date format.

It would change it for everyone.

*edit* oops, it's already been done. I shouldn't walk away from a thread and reply without refreshing.
