Since upgrading to 1.0.8 - 1.0.16, there has been an OSD pop up when ever shows end, and the next once starts, with the shows's information. Is there a way to turn off the auto OSD that pops up when shows finish and begin? I have searched the forums, and checked out the WIKI, but I can not seem to find any mention of it. I also scanned through the config.xml and don't see any swithces for this option. Is there a way to urn off this automatic OSD display, without turning off OSD all together?

There was a patch posted somewhere here that fixes this.

I didn't see anything listed in the survival guide, is it an official patch, or something that has been contributed buy a user? Any idea where I might look for it?

Thanks for that Sub, I guess I missed it because it was a secondary issue, but it sounds like the problem I'm having. I noticed that a lot of people are mentioning about digital tuners and the no signal pop up, but I have a regular tuner, and saw a similar message today for the first time. I got a low signal quality error, but still has picture and sound playing. I'll give this patch a try and ho0pefully it fixes everything. I must say, I didn't like the new interface when you released the 1.0.8 release, but once I got used to the differences, I think you took GBPVR in the right direction. Thanks again mate.

Just to update, the patch did stop the OSD popping up, it didn't stop the stutter that occurs when transitioning between shows. It's like the same effect as when the OSD popped up, but there is no OSD, just a stutter for a second..... very strange. Any thoughts about this?

I'm guessing that'll relate to your CPU. PVRX2 definitely puts more demands on the system than the old interface. I dont get any stutter during show transitions.

Unless you're using timeshift mode, where it is normal to get a stutter between shows as it switches files.

Well, I'm using live preview mode, and the only stutter I ever get, is that split second between shows when the OSD used to pop up before the patch. Maybe what ever the glitch is doing happens to quickly on new hardware that it doesn't get noticed. Other than the split second stutter, everything else runs flawless, even on my old hardware. I guess I'll have to learn to live with it, because I wouldn't give up on GBPVR for a split second issue. Smile

Yeah I agree Dasi, I'm just not seeing anything obvious that would cause this spike, other then a glitch related to the EPG. I know it's not the sudden OSD display any more, because the patch fixed that, and honestly, I don't get stutter like that when I pop up the OSD manually anyway.

Silly question, but could we make this 'bug' a configurable feature? I actually thought it was pretty cool. It's great for days when you feel like relaxing and have the TV tuned into a random channel not really caring what's on but want to know what you're watching anyways (yet are too lazy to check the guide). I can see how it could get annoying though, hence allowing it to be turned on or off. Would it be as simple as throwing in a conditional in somewhere, or was the bug something more complex?
