Hello,

I love GBPVR and I have some feature requests. I am still using .99 because I havent gotten the latest versiont o wrok yet, so some of these might already be there.

1. Can you somehow highlight programs I have set to record when I do searches? It highlights some red right now, but some are not even episodes I have set to record. No idea whats going on there.

2. More episode Info would be nice. Somehting along the lines of meevee.com

3. The interface in 1.0.16 is pretty unfriendly. The scrolling faded options is horrible. Please go back to a list where we can click.

4. Finding the search in 1.0.16 was all but impossible. This is not user friendly. I think most people would remove this program htinking it had no search capabilities.

Thanks!!

on and:

5. Manual recording is horribly painful. I have to click 100 times to get to my channel. And the time is in army time! subtracting 12 is annoying Smile

I have to agree, I just put in on last night and had to go back out to the old interface to make sure I could still use it.

Another thing I noticed, it is I guess Preference based, but when I started trying out PVR apps I noticed most of them want "to be like Mike" in this case "Mic" as in Microsoft aka MCE.

While the MCE interface is pretty it is in no way necessary, the classic GB-PVR was IMHO, Better and cleaner.... Down to earth for the people who want get on with the business of watching TV, yet still maintain a convenient, powerful and Simple interface.

I never been much for eye candy as it tends to cater to the Computer illiterate among us, and just complicate simple tasks with repetition - like Vista for example.

I would like to see an option In the Config section, that would allow you too choose what interface to be Default, PVRX2 or GBPVR - this way that is the interface you get when you goto the Tray icon and MVP. If someone wants something different then they download a skin and apply it to the PVRX2 or GBPVR interface - as I get the impression that the two of them are programed too differently to simply over lay with a new skin.

you can still use the old interface... for now. and the skins for it are downloaded. but no new plugins or skins will work on the old UI.

search is part of the tv guide for PVRX2.. IIRC. if its so hard to find... go edit the wiki, add some info about it, make it easier for others... remember this is free, mostly supported by ONE developer, and this community. Smile

Yea I found the old interface, but unfortunately the tray icon loads only the new one.

That depends on your tv guide source. If you're in the US there are a bunch available that have pretty good data, some free some not. Outside the US your options are more limited.

I agree the search thing was hard to find. A group of us is probably gonna try to revamp the wiki some more to make it more user friendly.

I think this is a bit harsh. For the most part the new user interface is the same as the old UI, but with a different menu and better text rendering on high resolution displays, or on widescreen displays. The improved text rendering was the primary goal for the new UI, and it does a really good job with this. The old hard coded 720x480 based user interface had to go...

For example, look at the screens like the Video Library, Photo Library, Recordings etc... the new versions are effectively the same screens providing exactly the same functionality, but are much better looking - particularly on a modern flat panel screen.

I can understand some people might not like the scrolling new menu though, and I'll continue provide mode menu types over the coming releases so that skins can provide different menu look/feel. I'm sure we'll eventually find one you like.

I agree. I've already decided I'll be moving the search guide back to a button on the main menu.

I did have ideas for more grand searching capabilities accessible via the tv guide, but I've decided against making these changes.

Sorry, no can do. PVRX2 is GB-PVR's user interface now. I'll continue to include the old GBPVR.exe interface for a few more months, then it'll be dropped. I'm not going to provide any encouragement for people to stick with it.
