I want to install XSuite into:

GBPVR InstallDir\Plugins\XSuite (for versions >= 1.0.8)

GBPVR InstallDir\Plugins (for older versions)

What's the proper way to determine the installed version of gbpvr from an installer? I can see "LastKnownVersionInUse" in the registry but that doesn't sound right. Is there a file to check?

If someone already has a nsis function to handle this would you mind sharing?

That registry location is the best place to ge the installed version as far as I know.

And if you're a plugin ( PluginHelperFactory.GetPluginHelper() ) theres a getInstallDirectory available as well.

Ahh, but I see from re-reading your post that that is not useful.

i look at registry for install location, then peek into config.xml at the top...
that has to be correct or things won't start..
