high def support is critical, i reckon..

according to ati, h/w hd support for their family of cards is available on nero and powerdvd. be great to add pvrx2 to the list! maybe i donate to help process..

depends on what you are talking about.

if you are talking about just using hardware acceleration, then that already works, it just depends on the codecs you use. as all GB-PVR does is tell directshow to render something. if you are talking about playing back HD Movies , on next gen discs... thats a whole other ball of wax. since I think you need to do fun special copy protection things to make it work, which is probably never going to happen (sorry).

and FYI, dont expect a response from sub until mid-late september, since he is on holiday.

thanks for info - was referring to file support rather than hd-dvd or blu-ray..

so i take it h/w acceleration is a non-configurable default? (hope not a daft question...)

i was reading article 737-21594: Radeon X1000 Series Products: How to Enable Hardware Acceleration of H.264 on ati.com

h/w acceleration has everything to do with your codecs, and nothing to do with GB-PVR. basically, you need to configure it in the settings to your codec (which can be hard to find for some). but there is nothing you need to do in GB-PVR to enable hardware acceleration.

good luck with that Smile
