Can someone really good with sql come up with a batch file that will straighten out the channels...

My FixChannel.Bat works fine, but something is happening with SD when I import data and the channels are sorting alphabetically on the 'display_name' rather than the 'name' column...

We may need this fix before sub comes back.

Basically the channels table needs to be exported, zeroed reindexed and reimported...

But are you seeing the channels out of order when you use the TV Guide?

The screenshot you show there actually shows the channels ordered by oid (admittedly the display name seems to follow suit).

If you are seeing the channels out of order in the TV Guide, try deleting the display name entries - my DB doesn't have any entries for this column (XMLTV in the UK) and it shows the channels in the TV guide ordered by the channel_number field.

Cheers,
Brian

Yeah, I'd have to ask that question too. As long as the channel numbers are correct, then they should be shown in the correct order in the TV Guide. It doesnt really matter what order they're in the database.

The order shown above will match the order they're supplied in the SD xml.

after several emptys and updates, this was as good as I could get. The channels list like in the Name Column in the TV Guide. THat's why I suspected that GB-PVR was not doing any sort and just displayed in the order that showed up here.

I couln't find the temp xml file but no I know that I wasn't looking for SD.xml. I'll confirm the order in the xml...

I would be very surprised if order in the TV Guide was any different than the channel number column in the database (unless you have duplicate channel numbers or something similar).

I would offer to look into it, but I'm holiday in China at the moment, so not in a position to do this now.

I understand. Even surprised you're on now. Checking up on us are you?

Pardon... the nTV Guide order IS the same order as the Channel_number column. That's my problem.
looks like my channels were imported out of order...

i'll check the sd.xml

The order they're imported shouldnt be important, as long as the channel number is correct.
