sub is there any chance you could change the render order of "ListSelectionMetaData" & the "ListItemxxxxx" elements so as the Metadata renders before the ListItems?? And the same thing for the Icons elements??

Unforunately no, I cant change that one. It collects the selected metadata while it's rendering the list items, so it cant be done before them.

Bugger........ I was wanting to display the BIG cover image under the list as I have heaps of directories that only have one or two videos in them & a lot of the screen is just empty in this situation.

I'll see if I can add something for the next release that'll enable this.

I ran into a bunch of thing testing imageGrabLite recently so this looks like a good place to make some wishlist and bug list reporting

- 2.2.6 did not fix the trace error reported on early versions, generated when you scroll the list faster then the render caches/displays them.

- in Ready Recording especially with 1 recording it would be nice to be able to hit play on the first list entry

- Art from media\shows is only displayed generically at the folder level in Video Library and Recordings. It would be nice to display this on individual items. It works with folder.jpg and when a file is playing, but I would like it display Media\shows\showname.jpg for \directory\showname\showname*.ts This might help a bit with Jaggy's empty feeling.

OK so this question isn't directly related to the original message but rather than start a new thread...

From the default skin Players\Videos.xml

Do these elements work & if so how do I get them to show??
Code:
    <Element name="StatusMessage" location="72,5" size="22,5">
        <RoundedRect location="0,0" size="100,100" fillColor="BaseColor2" borderColor="Transparent" radius="0.36" borderWidth="0"/>
          <Text text="@statusMessage" location="2,2" size="96,96" font="Default" align="Center" valign="Center"/>
    </Element>

    <Element name="SmallStatusMessage" location="6,5" size="10,5">
        <RoundedRect location="0,0" size="100,100" fillColor="BaseColor2" borderColor="Transparent" radius="0.32" borderWidth="0"/>
          <Text text="@statusMessage" location="2,2" size="96,96" font="Default" align="Center" valign="Center"/>
    </Element>

Yes, they work. The channel number appears in the SmallStatusMessage. If you press 'record' while watching live tv you'll see the StatusMessage saying something like "Recording 'One News At Midday'".

Surely that's in the LiveTV.xml not the Video.xml?
& that would explain why I wasn't seeing them when playing a video

Ok, typing a number prior to pressing 'skip' should show the 'SmallStatusMessage'. Toggling the aspect ratio mode should show the 'StatusMessage' showing the aspect ratio mode name.
