Invisible Weather

I've been using GBPVR 1.08 for some time with the weather plugin (not the beta version as I run 3 MVPs and only occasionally use the PC GBPVR GUI so don't use the new interface).

Everything was working great till I upgraded to GBPVR 1.16 at which point the Weather entry has dissapeared from the menu on both the MVP and the PC GUI. The plugin is listed in the config menu and is ticked but it just doesn't show up in the GBPVR menus.

I've tried un-ticking & re-ticking, disable / re-enable plugins. I've even tried updating to the Weather beta version but all to no avail.

Can't find any error message in the logs, indeed the logs say Weather has been added to the menu list. Plugin seems to be in the right directory.

Any one else got this problem?

I think 1.0.16 deletes the contents of the media\weathericons directory when it installs. Try reinstalling the weather plugin to fix everything up.

Sussed part of the problem.

The new PVRX2 GUI expects plugins in a named sub-directory under plugins but the old GBPVR GUI (which I use) still expects them in the plugins directory. When I did the GBPVR update, I'd deleted the Weather dlls from the plugin directory so it didn't work any more. When I tried the Weather beta install it put the Weather dll in a Weather sub-directory which the old GUI didn't pick up.

When I moved the beta Weather dll to the plugin directory, it re-appeared in the GBPVR GUI menu but when you click on it you get an error saying it can't find c:\xxxx\GBPVR\Weather\skin.xml. I can't find any such directory / skin.xml file

I've gone back to the old weather dlls and that seems to work.
