I had my Technisat ATSC card in my gigabyte S3 for the past week. It auto-detected it, I did an ATSC auto-scan, and for the most part everything worked fine. I put it in my new IP35-e with the same (only) driver, and it installs fine but is listed under Network Adapter instead of in Sound, Video. No auto-detect this time. After manually adding the card and channels, it says there is no capture card. Media Portal and Beyond TV can't detect the card, either.
I thought I had a problem with the onboard LAN so I uninstalled that driver and turned it off in the bios. With the tv card installed, the LAN still works. With both onboard LAN and TV card installed (both showing up under Network Adapters in Device Manager), Comodo firewall shows both as ethernet devices and shows each as having a separate ip address (connected to my router).
I think if the board would stick the card under Sound, Video like it's supposed to, everything would work fine. But so far I can't get it to do that. The IP35 boards use the pci path for the LAN bandwidth or something, so I don't think that's helping matters. Weird stuff, and I'm running out of ideas.
This is with Media Center XP32. The MCE services are already turned off.
edit: I installed the setup4pc Technisat software which I hadn't done, and that software sees the card and sees some channels in autoscan (but gets an error trying to watch TV), and now Media Portal detects the card and sees some channels in autoscan (but gets an error trying to watch TV). GVPVR and Beyond TV say no tuner present. Strange.
