Not that I have heard of but MVPMC works great I think. The MVP is much more stable since I installed it :-)

Not hard at all, the only drawback (because I have no MVPMC share with a dongle.conf in my setup) is that you have to press OK at startup (to enter Emulation mode). And that is not a big drawback, but I can tink of no other.

Hauppauge have supplied me a few updated dongle.bin files to check, and they did greatly improve vista compatibility over their publically available dongles, but it still not quite right so I decided to stick with the status quo and recommend vista users use the mvpmc dongle for now.

i tried several dongles including mvpmc's and at the moment dongle 1.1.52 seems to work best for me (that's the one coming with pvrx2 1.0.16. i think).
most disturbing issue is that the remote stops working after several keypresses. only standby-button is active when this happens.

looking forward to new hauppauge dongles Smile

1.1.47 is the version included with GB-PVR. It works well with XP and 2000, but not with Vista. Later dongles work better with Vista, but suffer problems with the remote stopping working across XP, 2000 & Vista. I decided to have it working well with XP and 2000, rather than poorly across all three.

Turas, if you are interested in improving mvpmc's performance, post a message on the mvpmc sub forum with a better explanation of the problem, the version of mvpmc you are using and the gbpvr logs when the problem occurs and I will see what I can do.

See my reply to Turas, that seems pretty extreme. I'm especially interested in the logs and the date of mvpmc from the About screen. I forgot I also need to know the version of GBPVR, I'm assuming 1.0.16.

i've installed the brand new alpha yesterday. remote is still stuck very soon (sooner than with 1.1.52). i'll do some testing and post the logs today.

Thanks. A couple of things to try.

1) Wait 5-10 seconds after starting emulation mode before hitting a remote key.

2) I suspect that logging in pvrx2 is broken at least with mvpmc and Vista even with the flushing disabled. Autostart an extra mvp server and when the freeze happens power off and then go back into emulation mode.
