Since Yahoo seems to have cut off their feed for Yapi2Xml, I'm playing with the I-xmltv utility for SD. It works well, but I'm noticing a few issues:

1. Some of the shows have an " *" appended to the title. So I've got "Heroes" airing on Sept 18, 2007 and "Heroes *" airing on September 25, 2007. My guess is the "*" indicates it's a new show. Does this mean I need to change my reoccuring schedule for "Heroes" to look for "Heroes *"?

2. I have some shows in the TV Guide with a title of "Zap2It" and a sub-title of "No messages from Zap2It today". Is that an SD issue?

Yes, you do...

Originally, I-XMLTV replaced the "Paid Programming" with a Zap2It message. This message would indicate problems with your channels lineup and/or when you subscription to Zap2It expired. I'm not sure if this still works with SD, as I have disabled that portion of the I-XMLTV utility.

Okay, those are definitely "Paid Programming" shows, true. When you disabled that portion, what showed up instead? I'd rather see "Paid Programming" than "Zap2It".

How did you disable that? I can't find any info on that.

When I disable the Zap2It message, it justs leaves the listing alone. So it will be "Paid Programming"...

I believe just by setting SET Zap2ItStatus=2 to SET Zap2ItStatus=0 in the I-xmltv.bat file.

Awesome. That works perfectly. Thanks!

I think it's worth noting to point out that you may need to add a reccuring schedule for BOTH show titles if you miss the original "*" airing and want to catch the first-run episode at a later date. This won't be such a problem for a show like "Heroes" that isn't aired more than once a week but it's definitely an issue for me for many of the cable-type shows (USA, AMC, etc.) that I record.

For instance, I missed the original airing of this week's "Burn Notice*" due to a conflict with another scheduled recording. Since I only had "Burn Notice *" set up as recurring it didn't know that this episode was re-run multiple times throughout the week. As soon as I added "Burn Notice" it found it and scheduled it accordingly.

But if you had successfully recorded that episode of "Burn Notice *" you'd end up with two copies of the same show, right? Or does it know those are duplicates?

It knows that they are duplicates and would not record a second copy if you have the "Don't record duplicates" option ticked in the "Miscellaneous" tab in the configuration app. (at least this is my understanding, I haven't actually tested it yet!).

Slick. I'll give that a shot, thanks.
