MVP only shows black screen when playing mpgs

Hi, I recently upgraded from 99.x to the new 1.0.16 and am using schedules direct. Nothing else on my hardware has changed but now I notice that i too am having no luck playing any recordings (Mpgs that were recorded by previous version of gbpvr).

These recordings all play correctly on the pc that has the capture card and is running the recording service.

i also notice that it takes minutes (not seconds like before) for the mvp to finally connect to the server. Once connected, then the mvp can display the tv guide and i can setup recordings no problem. ITs just that once I play back any recorded show, I get a black screen on the tv.

I notice that if I boot my pc, I get the mvp media server window minimized just like I used to. However I notice that once I play the mpg and the screen goes black, that window disappears. I then cannot seem to figure out how to get that back. There used to be a program called "mvp media server.exe" that I could stop and rerun to try to fix problems.

now I seem to only get that window if i reboot.

I am attaching my log - the show i was trying to play was "Barefoot Contessa". you can see from the log that the mvp server shuts down when trying to play this file.

This sounds like it is firewall related. The name of the application to allow is now PVRX2.exe and not GBPVR.exe

Yeah, I agree. I can see in the logs that the MVP only got own of the two connections it needs to function. The one that never arrived was for the connection that streams audio/video content.

I'm getting the same thing, however, I have the firewall turned off. Here is the last section of my log file.

I'm using 1.0.16, but have GBPVR.EXE set for the MVP.

Interestingly enough, I got it to work after restarting the MVP server using MVP Server Checker. When I had one server being watched, it didn't work. When I configured it for 2 servers, it worked.

In your first set of logs, which are limited use when they are incomplete, I don't see the connection to the streaming server. If you are absolutely sure there is no firewall getting in the way, I would suspect that you have the Hauppauge MediaMVPSvc running and it needs to be disabled.
