What does your fall recording schedule look like? For our home:

Prison Break
Back to You
Til Death
24
Prison Break
Chuck
Heroes
Journeyman
Bones
House
My Name Is Earl
The Office (US)
Big Shots
Las Vegas
Lost

Now if I could get the cable company to get out and hook up the Internet at my new home, I could actually switch these from manual recordings to something with a more descriptive title. haha

Well you can use torrents but technically, that may be illegal in the US due to (I'm told by my ISP) the fact that while it's not illegal to download it's illegal for others to upload from you which happens while using torrents. So, as my ISP has suggested, I use the newsgroups. Downloads are fast and I'm not sharing with anyone.
I'm on the fence as to whether I should feel guilty or not. By the time these shows are shown in the states, they're cut down from 58 minutes to 42 and that's not acceptable to me. If you want to wait for the DVD to come out, plan on waiting more than a year. I may die before then. Big Grin

What's the quality like - most of the stuff I've seen on emule is pretty poor...

I had to lay my schedule out in a spreadsheet to organize it. :p

Monday: Journeyman
Tuesday: House (I hope CW posts Reaper online, and I'll end up watching Eureka in repeats or buying from iTunes again...)
Wednesday: Private Practice
Thursday: My Name Is Earl, Grey's Anatomy
Friday: Moonlight, Men In Trees (starting next week)

Since I work second shift, "Prime Time" means about 1am-3am for me....

In no particular order.....

1. The Daily Show with John Stewart (recorded twice per day just in case). This was the show that made me want a PVR in the first place.

2. The Office

3. ER - I gave up on ER a couple of years ago after the ridiculous episode where the helicopter fell on the jerk doctor. I record it for the Girlfriend but it was surprisingly good last night.

4. CBS News Sunday Morning - Have loved this show since the Charles Kurault days.

5. SouthPark - I get about 4 episodes a day.

6. The Simpsons - Also about 4 per day.

7. The IT Crowd - A new favorite.

8. Flight of the Conchords - Another new favorite.

9. Big Brother - A summer tradition for me and the girlfriend.

10. Saturday Night Live - Thank god for fast forward. Takes me about 20 minutes to watch this 90 minute show.

11. Mad TV

12. House - Probably my favorite network show right now.

13. Marmot Manor - I'm not really into animal shows but love this one.

14. Survivor - I find this show very boring until it gets down to 6 or 7 people. Record it for the girlfriend.

I also record Letterman, Leno and Kimmel every night but rarely watch them. I have them set to "keep 3" and will check them out if I hear something interesting happened.

Once a week or so I pull up all the premium movie channels and select a bunch of movies to record.

In my opinion, the process of finding new shows, setting up recordings and resolving conflicts is the weakest part of GBPVR. I would love to have more control over the TV guide and a system for prioritizing recordings and automatically resolving conflicts.
