I'm using free view (DVB-T) in the UK with the over the air EPG.

I can pick up 2 transmitters with the same channels on differing frequencies (I have created a new frequency definition file....!). However they are in different regions & so /should/ have differing regional opt outs.. But I can't see how to get both (EG) BBC1s to appear in the lineup, I can't seem to change the channel name or set up a mapping in the 'map epg to digital' dialog...

The 'best' signal is on the TX with the 'wrong' regional optout so I don't want to ditch one set of channels...

This is slightly different to the 'same channel on 2 tuners' scenario as there isn't a 'choice' as to which tuner to use but I do need to differentiate the 2 (identically named!) channels...

Any suggestions?

The problem I just fixed sounds different than yours but I'll give you my solution in case it rattles a few ideas loose.

Schedules direct returns duplicate channel network IDs in my area. Two channel numbers share the same network code but are listed as different channel numbers.

Eg
MTVCAN 101
MTVCAN 115

Both of these channels display nothing but static. The actual broadcast comes in on channel 104 but the program listings for channel 115 are correct for MTVCAN.

My solution was to Disable channel 101 and remap channel 115 to 104.

Here's the long version of my solution (I took some notes as I was going along since everyone in my area will have this problem.)

Schdedules Direct does some wacky things with the listings for channels 101 - 116 for my area. Network IDs are duplicated but the guide only shows prgrams for one of the instances. Channel numbers are also swapped around and logos will be displayed for the incorrect channels.

Here's my fix to ensure the correct logo is shown for the channels and the guide shows the correct program info:

The config utility has 2 methods to alter channel mappings and the order displayed in the guide: EPG setup in capture source and channels.

- Use the EPG setup to disable duplicate channels for which no program info is displayed in the GBPVR guide. Change the source channel to match the cable providers broadcast for that network.

- Update the Channels tab in the config utility to match the new source channels specified in the EPG setup. Duplicates in this tab seem to be fine as long as one of the networks for the duplicate channel listings is disabled in the EPG setup.

Here's what I started with:

SD LISTINGS ACTUAL
101 MTVCAN = static, no guide info
102 VISION = static, no guide info
103 APTNP = ok
104 CPAC = MTVCAN, no guide info
105 BCLEG = VISION, no guide info
106 CFTM = ok
107 TV5 = ok
108 RDI = ok
109 MLTV = ok
110 BNEWS = CPAC, no guide info
111 VOICE = BCLEG, no guide info
112 BCLEG = static, Guide for BCLEG
113 BNEWS = static, no guide info
114 CPAC = static, Guide for CPAC
115 MTVCAN = static, Guide for MTVCAN
116 VISION = static, Guide for VISION

Here's the Fix

ORIGINAL UPDATED
101 MTVCAN - Disabled
102 VISION - Disabled
103 APTNP - n/a
104 CPAC - Disabled
105 BCLEG - Disabled
106 CFTM - n/a
107 TV5 - n/a
108 RDI - n/a
109 MLTV - n/a
110 BNEWS - Disabled
111 VOICE - Disabled
112 BCLEG - remapped to CH\111
113 BNEWS - Disabled
114 CPAC - remapped to CH\110
115 MTVCAN - remapped to CH\104
116 VISION - remapped to CH\105

Again, be sure to remap the channels that have the listing info. If not, you will get the correct station ID but there will be no info in the guid for the channel.
